Which brings us to the Bronfmans' organization, the World<br />

Jewish Congress. On Feb. 1, thanks to the courageous<br />

efforts of longtime reader Isi Leibler, Israel Singer, the WJC's<br />

former Chairman of the Board, was found culpable, by the<br />

NY State Attorney General, of transferring $1.2 million of<br />

WJC funds into his own pocket. He was banned from all<br />

financial duties in the organization.<br />

Instead, Edgar Bronfman (CFR) immediately appointed him<br />

head of the new WJC Policy council, which according to the<br />

Jerusalem Post, 2/2/06 includes Vatican agent Shimon<br />

Peres and former German foreign minister Joschka Fischer.<br />

VATICAN CITY, Jan. 26 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Israel Singer, the<br />

Chairman of the Policy Council of the World Jewish<br />

Congress, has held talks in Rome with senior Vatican<br />

officials. He met (for the first time) with Archbishop Leonardo<br />

Sandri, Substitute for General Affairs at the Secretariat of<br />

State of the Holy See, and Archbishop Giovanni Lajolo,<br />

Secretary for Relations with States (foreign minister). Singer<br />

also met with Cardinal Kasper, president of the Pontifical<br />

Council for Promoting Christian Unity; and Archbishop<br />

Michael L. Fitzgerald, president of the Pontifical Council for<br />

Inter-Religious Dialogue.
