1. Fundamentals of CAD: Introduction: Design Process: Application of computers in<br />
design: Creating manufacturing database: benefits of CAD.<br />
2. Computer Hardware; Graphic input devices; display devices; Graphics output<br />
devices; Central processing unit (CPU)<br />
3. CAD software and Database: Software configuration of a graphics system:<br />
functions of a graphics package: geometric modeling: Database structure and control;<br />
Graphics standard: GKS and IGES.<br />
4. Geometric Trans<strong>for</strong>mations: Mathematics preliminaries, matrix representation of 2<br />
and 3 dimensional trans<strong>for</strong>mation: Concatenation of trans<strong>for</strong>mation matrices.<br />
Application of geometric trans<strong>for</strong>mations.<br />
5. Representation of curves and surfaces: Polygon, meshed and ruled surfaces:<br />
