with public authorities
The Group is committed to transparent and fair relations in all circumstances with public
authorities. Although tobacco consumption is an option for responsible individuals,
the associated questions represent societal issues for public authorities that require special
regulations. Altadis intends to participate in this debate through an honest presentation
of its positions.
Defending
our interests fairly
Altadis is committed to defending its views and rightful
interests before elected offi cials, public authorities
and international institutions in a spirit of openness
and transparency. All of its initiatives are conducted
with honesty, making sure that stakeholders are not
faced with any confl ict of interest.
Condemning
illegal traffi cking
Altadis condemns illegal tobacco traffi cking, a practice
that hinders the development of its brands and reduces
government tax revenues. The Group strictly complies with
the laws of each country in which it operates and cooperates
with public authorities.
Remaining neutral with regard
to political and religious activities
Altadis aims to preserve its neutrality with regard to
political, religious and philosophical issues. However,
its employees are free to act as they choose, provided
that their actions are not detrimental to the Group’s
image or performance.
