commercial fish p<strong>in</strong>gers, diver USBL’s, <strong>and</strong> Channel<br />

Industries ceramic disks. Configurations of <strong>the</strong> ceramic<br />

disks tested <strong>in</strong>clude an oil-filled conta<strong>in</strong>er, various<br />

solder<strong>in</strong>g locations, additional match<strong>in</strong>g layers, <strong>and</strong><br />

aperture reduction.<br />

� WASSP Measured beam patterns (Tx <strong>and</strong> Rx) of <strong>the</strong> transmit<br />

element <strong>and</strong> 26 receive elements for several design<br />

modifications of an oil-filled conta<strong>in</strong>er that is used to<br />

evaluate back<strong>in</strong>g materials.<br />

� USRD E27 Measured impedance <strong>and</strong> TVR/OCVR upon receipt from<br />

USRD <strong>and</strong> follow<strong>in</strong>g damage to coaxial cable. Compared<br />

with USRD calibration.<br />

ranges of 5 <strong>and</strong> 14 meters with <strong>the</strong> USRD E27 receiv<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

Resolved pitch offset of 1.2 degrees evident <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> beam<br />

pattern at 14 meters. Verified that <strong>the</strong> “RxGa<strong>in</strong>” sett<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong>creases <strong>in</strong> 1 dB steps over <strong>the</strong> available range from 1 to<br />

45. Verified that <strong>the</strong> “TxPower” sett<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>creases <strong>in</strong> 3 dB<br />

steps over a range from 1 to 17 (“Full”). Verified <strong>the</strong><br />

source level at “Full” TxPower. Measured <strong>the</strong> effect of<br />

pulse width on <strong>the</strong> source level for all TxPower sett<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />

Verified <strong>the</strong> relative TVG.<br />

� Simrad EM3002 Measured <strong>the</strong> transmit beam pattern (across- <strong>and</strong> alongtrack)<br />

with <strong>the</strong> USRD E27 receiv<strong>in</strong>g. Exam<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>the</strong><br />

repeatability of <strong>the</strong> transmit beam pattern measurement<br />

follow<strong>in</strong>g displacement of <strong>the</strong> carriage. Measured <strong>the</strong><br />

receive beam pattern (across- <strong>and</strong> along-track) with <strong>the</strong><br />
