summer time is the right time for free outdoor concerts, requiring only a blanket, chair or picnic
basket. If you are looking for a unique place to hold a luncheon, meeting or reception, Yorktown
has two spectacular venues right in the heart of Riverwalk — the Freight Shed and the banquet
room at the award-winning Riverwalk Restaurant. With beautiful views of the York River, both will
ensure a memorable experience for everyone. Or if you prefer after a day of shopping, sit on one
of our many benches throughout the Riverfront, watch the ships come in or walk along the clean
white sand of Yorktown’s beach. Most outdoor programs are free to the public, and with ample free
parking, you can come and spend the whole day. Take a sail on the Schooner Alliance or if you are
traveling by boat, dock at one of two piers along the Riverfront. Located less than 20 minutes from
the Colonial Williamsburg Visitors Center coming by boat, bus or car, you are sure to have a oncein-a-lifetime
