SPECIALTY CAMPS COMPLETED K-8TH GRADES BOYS LACROSSE (7506) Hands-on instruction on basic skills and fundamentals of the game through drills and semi-formal games. Campers should bring all equipment needed: gloves, helmet, stick, elbow pads, mouthpiece, shoulder pads, sneakers and cleats. The Y can provide sticks if needed. Instruction takes place from 9:00 to 12:00. Thursday, campers will participate in games with other Ys. In the afternoon, campers participate in traditional day camp activities such as recreational swim, games, nature walks and cookout on Friday. Grade completed K-6 Time: 9:00 am-4:00 pm Location: Hanby Outdoor Center Fees: Full Member $215 Program Member $250 CIRCUS CAMP (7377) Run away to the circus at the Brandywine Y. Circus of the Kids returns to teach campers circus arts with a special mix of learning, exercise, character building and just plain fun. Auditions start on Monday at 9:00 am. The week is scheduled around the rehearsal schedule. Schedule is posted Tuesday morning. Some campers may have to practice until 6:00 p.m. The Y will provide care for the acts that practice after 4:00 p.m. Campers will perform their amazing acts for family and friends Thursday evening at 7:00 pm and Friday morning. Grade completed 1–8 Time: 9:00 am-4:00 pm Location: Brandywine Y Fees: Full Members $290 Program Members $350 16 SESSION 6: JULY 16-JULY 20 SESSION 7: JULY 23-JULY 27 GOLF CAMP (7509) Campers are transported to the Eric MacCluen Golf Academy located at Applecross Country Club to receive instruction and work on the basic swing, rules and etiquette of the game. Advanced campers will work on different types of shots. Campers will play the course when available. The academy does have equipment for campers to use but if campers have golf equipment, they should bring it with them. We will keep their equipment at camp during the week. Campers should dress in proper golf attire each day (walking shorts, collared shirt or golf outfit for girls). Campers return to the Hanby Outdoor Center around 2:00 pm and join camp activities. Semiformal games and drills are designed to develop game skills. Campers travel twice to a local batting cage; return in time for 12:00 pm pickup. On Tuesday, campers attend a Camden Riversharks game; return time 3:00 pm. Glove, cleats, water bottle, sun screen and sneakers needed daily. On Thursday, campers will participate in games with the Bear Y at their facility. Please arrive at 12:00 pm to allow for travel time. Transportation will be provided. Campers need sneakers, shorts, snack and a great attitude. For a full day option, add Baseball or Softball Camp in the morning. To get to know each other, on Monday campers will participate in team building, mind puzzle and scavenger hunt activities.Tuesday, they will divide into tribes. Wednesday, they’ll follow clues to gather foods to prepare a dish to share with all tribes. Thursday, more challenges and a trip to play laser tag and on Friday…the big finale! Will they eat a bug? Touch a brain? Stand on a log while counting to a gazillion? Find an eyeball in guts? Who will be the best of the silliness?
