TEEN CAMPS
COMPLETED 3RD - 9TH GRADE
LEADERS IN TRAINING (7601)
LITs learn skills that enable them to lead groups and put their skills
to use the last two weeks of the session. Activities include
icebreakers, training, group work, special events, games, free time
and swimming. Campers need to apply. Packets will be available in
early February at the front desk of the YMCA. Please make sure to
have your application, completed references and choose an
interview date. Campers should bring lunch, sunscreen, swim suit,
towel, and most important of all a positive attitude daily. If you

Cost per session: $395. If you complete the first session,
the second session is only an additional $195.
DRAMA CAMP (7357)
If your child dreams of being in a play, this is the camp for them!
Drama Kids of Wilmington’s professional staff will help campers
explore all aspects of theater from acting and directing, set design
and advertising to create a play directed and performed entirely by
them. Campers will perform their play for family and friends at the
end of camp. For more information about Drama Kids of Wilmington

DODGEBALL CAMP (7507)
Campers will learn different games of dodgeball skills . One day
campers will be bused to the Brandywine Y and work with a
wellness instructor on agility and strength drills related to
dodgeball. Campers also take part in traditional day camp activities
such as recreational swim, camp games and nature walks. Parents
will be notified of trip schedules before the start of camp. Campers
need lunch, except on Fridays. Water bottle, swim suit, towel and

OUTDOOR SKILLS CAMP (7345)
Learn traditional outdoor survival skills such as plant identification,
constructing a shelter, building a campfire, animal tracking and
orienteering. Then use your new skills during an overnight campout.

SUPER SITTERS “PLUS” CAMP (7324)
Prepare for those summer babysitting jobs! In addition to regular
Super Sitter training, campers will have hands-on child care
experience and be trained in infant and child CPR. A special onehour
pool safety class is also included. Baby-sitter’s resource book,
first aid manual, CPR books and certification included. Y ID card
is awarded at the completion of this course (you must attend all

JOURNEYS AND STRONG ENOUGH CAMP (7346)
A wellness camp for teens ages 10-14 yrs old; must be 10 yrs old
at the start of the program. Fitness staff will focus on the proper
use of equipment in the Wellness Center. Campers also receive two
hours of classroom activities focusing on building self esteem by
learning skills to help deal with emotional and social changes that
occur during the early teen years. Campers receive a lanyard at the
end of camp to continue their workouts independently in the

STITCH’N AND STIR’N (7322)
Campers will have fun learning basic sewing and cooking skills and
use their sewing skills to design a t-shirt as their chef uniform to
wear when they participate in a healthy cooking challenge. Perfect

MINIATURE ROOM DESIGN CAMP (7332)

decorating techniques that can be helpful in real life situations
