Chad Baldwin Chad is a senior product manager in the Building Solutions Division of Autodesk. Chad has been part of the Autodesk ® Buzzsaw ® product team for more than 4 years working to improve customers’ ability to successfully collaborate and manage their projects. Christina Baldwin Christina is the director of technical support and training for E-Terra, LLC., a reseller with offices and training facilities in Alaska, Washington, Montana, and Idaho. Christina has worked with Autodesk ® products for more than 14 years. Her experience includes petrochemical, facilities management, and CAD management. Previously, Christina worked at Autodesk providing technical support and technical account management. Daniel T. Banach Daniel is director of technical services at MasterGraphics, Inc., an Autodesk ® Systems Center. He has worked with CAD software for 15-plus years and has 5 years of professional mechanical design experience. Daniel authored three books on Autodesk ® Mechanical Desktop ® , and co-authored three books on Autodesk Inventor ® , the Autodesk Inventor 7 Certification Exam, and the Autodesk Inventor ® 7 Certification Exam Preparation Manual.He is a longtime speaker at Autodesk University ® .Daniel earned his B.S. in Industrial Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Nate Bartley Nate has worked for Autodesk for over 10 years, most recently as a quality assurance engineer on the interoperability team specializing in network and operating system issues. As an Autodesk ® software user since 1984, he has used, trained, tested, and supported AutoCAD ® and AutoCADbased products. Before joining Autodesk, he was a CAD manager for a small architectural firm in San Jose, California. Nate earned his B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Andrea Bell For the past 2 years, Andrea has worked as a product support technician in the Professional Services division at Autodesk. Prior to joining Autodesk, she collaborated in GIS and mapping research projects, primarily in data collection and analysis. Robert Bell Robert is the network administrator for MW Consulting Engineers, an engineering consulting firm in Spokane, Washington, where he has worked for the last 15 years. He is responsible for the network and all AutoCAD ® customization. Robert has been writing AutoLISP ® code since AutoCAD v2.5, and Visual Basic programs for 5 years. He has customized applications for the electrical/lighting, plumbing/piping, and HVAC disciplines. Robert has also developed applications for AutoCAD as a consultant. He is also an AUGI ® Guild moderator and is active on Autodesk newsgroups. Terry Bennett, P.L.S.-L.P.F. Terry is senior manager of Civil Industry Marketing for Autodesk’s Infrastructure Solutions Division. He is responsible for marketing the company’s solutions for Land/Environmental Planning, Land Surveying, and Civil Engineering. He has been a practicing professional consultant to private and public organizations for the last 22 years. Terry holds multistate registration in both Land Surveying and Forest Resource Management, and his expertise ranges from resource mapping and management, to land development, surveying, GIS, and civil site design. He is also a member of numerous professional organizations and delivers presentations worldwide. Richard Binning Richard is currently the CAD Coordinator for The Haskell Company where he plays an <strong>integr</strong>al role in custom application development, AutoCAD ® system usage, and training of CAD users. Binning’s talent As a CAD designer, Richard is experienced in architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical design. He is also fluent in the following languages: Visual Basic, VB Script, JavaScript, Visual Basic for Applications, AutoLISP ® , Diesel, XML and HTML. Richard is active with AUGI ® as an author, guild list moderator, ATP Instructor, and Exchange Approvals manager. Dick Bland Dick is senior manager of Manufacturing Solutions with the Intel Solutions Market Development Group, focused on enabling enterprise solutions based upon Intel architecture for the global manufacturing marketplace. Dick has worked for Intel since 1993 when he joined as worldwide applications manager for Intel’s Scalable Systems Division. During his 10-year tenure with Intel he has also managed groups responsible for selling and marketing parallel computer solutions and server products to large customers. Prior to joining Intel, Dick was director of Sales Support with Cray Research, Inc. He has a diverse background ranging from managing development of large-scale business solutions to sales and support of supercomputers to Global 2000 manufacturing companies. Ted Boardman Currently, Ted’s primary job description is that of traveling 3ds max ® and 3D Studio VIZ ® training consultant. As an Authorized Discreet ® Training Specialist, he produces custom productivityenhancing training sessions in 3D modeling and animation for clients in a wide range of disciplines. Ted is author and co-author of several books, including 3D Studio MAX ® 5 Fundamentals and titles from the Inside 3D Studio MAX ® series.Ted writes a monthly column on CAD and animation topics at www.cgarchitect.com. He is an awardwinning AU speaker and is the founder of the Boston Area 3D Studio ® User Group. Daryl Bookout Prior to joining Autodesk in 2001, Daryl worked as an independent consultant in the AEC industry in Texas and Louisiana. His primary focus was on assisting firms with Autodesk ® Architectural Desktop implementation. He has also helped clients by providing training, support, application development, and consulting services for Autodesk-based solutions. Daryl’s industry experience includes CAD management, drafting, design, and project management in both the architectural and petrochemical industries. Sandy Boulton Sandy is responsible for educating customers about sound software management practices, enforcing existing copyright laws, and improving legislation to protect software. In 1987, she formed the industry’s first Piracy Prevention Department. From 1983 to 1987, Sandy served in a variety of capacities at Autodesk, including communications manager and director of marketing. She is a founding member of the Business Software Alliance (BSA) and is currently chairman of its North American Anti-Piracy Committee. She is frequently quoted as an industry expert in the area of copyright infringement and is recognized as an industry leader in piracy prevention. Sandy holds B.S. and MBA degrees from Michigan State University. Christiaan Bowen Christiaan is an accomplished instructor with 14 years of experience as a specialist in mechanical design using primarily Autodesk ® products. He combines his expertise, knowledge, and patience to teach innovative courses in AutoCAD ® , Autodesk ® Mechanical Desktop ® , and Autodesk Inventor ® .Christiaan has also incorporated a company, Sellier Enterprises, Inc., that specializes in mechanical design for the machine-automated packaging industry. Chris Bullen Chris holds a double degree in Pure and Applied Mathematics from the University of Calgary. He has been working in the architectural field since 1987 and with 3D since 1994. Chris has taught at the college level and has provided training at other institutions. He is an active member of the visualization community with award-winning experience, and loves to share his knowledge with others.
Charles Busa Charles is an Autodesk ® Authorized Consultant in the architectural arena. He has used AutoCAD ® since release 10, and has 9 years of experience in training users. His main focus is architectural, from design through working drawings, including renderings and walkthroughs. Charles has also produced mechanical and industrial renderings and models. Throughout his training career, he has used the solutions he instructs in. Michael Carris Mike is an Autodesk ® Authorized Consultant and Autodesk ® Certified Instructor. He has more than 13 years of experience in civil/survey software, engineering design, and surveying. Mike provides consulting, training, and technical support to public and private engineering and surveying firms across the country. He is known for his expertise in design visualization, GIS, mapping, civil engineering, and land surveying software applications. Mike is also a faculty member at John Tyler Community College in Richmond, Virginia. Patrik Chartrand Patrick has been working as a project manager in the aeronautics field for 6 years and as an application engineer for a reseller for 4 years. His areas of expertise include project management, PLM, PDM, and Autodesk ® mechanical solutions. Patrick has trained more than 1200 engineers and designers on using Autodesk ® Mechanical Desktop ® and Autodesk Inventor ® . Douglas Cochran Doug has more that 20 years of experience as a CAD director and architect. He has worked with several large architectural firms during his career. Doug is well-known at Autodesk as an advocate for the architecture community. Specializing in technology as it applies to AEC firms, Doug has successfully helped increase efficiency and profitability through the development and appropriate use of technology. David Cohn David has more than 20 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD ® as a user, developer, author, and consultant. He is the publisher and editor-in-chief of Engineering Automation Report, the former senior editor of CADalyst magazine, and the author of more than a dozen books about AutoCAD. A licensed architect, David has also developed numerous AutoCAD add-on programs and is a well-known speaker and industry consultant. David Conant, AIA As the first architect employed by Revit Technology Corp., David has been designing the Autodesk ® Revit ® software since it was merely an idea. He applies his many years of experience as a practicing architect to keep the Revit team focused on real architectural needs and high levels of usability. Prior to working at Revit, David worked as an architect and CAD manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He developed and implemented office-wide standards, customized AutoCAD ® systems, and implemented an ongoing staff training system. He also has extensive experience teaching AutoCAD as a faculty member in Northeastern University’s Department of Art and Architecture. Todd Cummings Todd has more than 14 years of experience in engineering and document management. This is his third year at AU as a presenter on the subject of document management. As director of product development for Synergis Adept Document Management software, Todd has managed programming, application engineering, and marketing teams through seven releases of Synergis’ software. Todd also develops and deploys product implementation and training programs for customers and partner companies across the United States. Armundo Darling Armundo is a CAD manager for Flack + Kurtz, Inc. He manages CAD for the firm’s San Francisco and Seattle offices. Armundo started drafting for the U.S. Air Force in 1984 as an engineering assistant specialist. His professional background includes working in the aeronautical engineering industry for several years. He also worked as a piping designer for 6 years with pharmaceutical companies in the Bay Area before returning to the architectural engineering field. Greg Demchak Greg has been working with Autodesk ® Revit ® for more than 3 years in the Quality Assurance Group where he helps develop key software features and tests the software in real-world architectural scenarios. He has produced marketing content in the form of photorealistic renderings and the Autodesk Revit design gallery. He is also a faculty member at the Boston Architectural Center, where he teaches introductory Autodesk Revit classes. Greg holds a Master in Architectural Studies from MIT, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon. Lisa Desautels Lisa has been working with large-format imaging since 1996. She has extensive experience in scanning paper documents into digital data, as well as image compression, indexing, and <strong>integr</strong>ation of data into document management systems. She has worked on projects involving more than 50,000 documents. She was featured in Directions magazine recently in an article about prominent women in GIS. Lisa is currently a member of AIIM and is the secretary for Nevada GIS. She has been providing imaging services and solutions to the CAD and GIS markets since 1997. Joanne Diaz Joanne works with RBF Consulting in Irvine, California, where she provides CADD support and training to more than 300 CADD users across 12 offices. Prior to joining RBF, Joanne served as director of training for Synergis Technologies, in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, developing and delivering AutoCAD ® courses and providing consulting services for CADD standards development. She is a recipient of Autodesk’s Instructional Quality Award and has been an Autodesk ® Certified Instructor since 1992. Joanne’s career began in the early eighties designing newspaper conveying systems. Matt Dillon A registered architect with 16 years of experience in Autodesk ® architectural applications, Matt Dillon has worked with AutoCAD Architectural Desktop since the initial release and is a moderator in the Autodesk discussion forums on the product. In addition to being an Autodesk ® Certified Instructor at an Autodesk ® Authorized Training Center and providing end-user technical support, he assists customers in implementing Autodesk ® Architectural Desktop. He also consults with Autodesk development staff in product design and usability. Currently, Matt is promoting the adoption of Building Information Modeling in the United States. Sean Dotson, P.E. Sean has worked in the custom automated machinery industry for the last 6 years and currently works for PGT Industries in Florida. He provides design, engineering analysis, and CAD management solutions to three different engineering groups within PGT. Sean also provides training and VB and VBA customization of Autodesk Inventor ® to client companies. He is perhaps best known for his numerous tutorials on advanced Autodesk Inventor subjects, which he offers free-of-charge at his website (www.sdotson.com). Sean also co-authored Animator for Autodesk Inventor, an animation add-on application. David Driver David is the principal of 4D Architects. During his 20 years of practicing architecture, David has served as architectural project manager and computer manager. He also provides consulting on CAD standards and implementation of Autodesk ® products. David is also an instructor and teaches Autodesk ® Architectural Desktop and Autodesk ® Revit ® classes at several training centers across the United States.
