Michael Tuersley<br />
Michael is the head programmer/consultant for<br />
RAND IMAGINiT Technologies. He has been<br />
working with and programming AutoCAD ® and<br />
related software for 16 years and teaching it for<br />
10 years. Michael’s background includes time<br />
programming, architectural engineering consulting,<br />
designing plastic injection molds, building<br />
residential homes, and teaching at Stark State<br />
College of Technology in Canton, Ohio. He is an<br />
experienced developer using VB, VBA, AutoLISP ® ,<br />
Visual LISP ® ,Cold Fusion, XML, ObjectARX ® , C#,<br />
and Java languages. Michael is also the author of<br />
CADalyst magazine’s “AutoCAD Clinic” column.<br />
Thomas Van Laan, P.E.<br />
Thomas is president and CEO of COADE<br />
Engineering Software in Houston. He has 24<br />
years of plant design experience, and was<br />
formerly employed at Bechtel and Ebasco<br />
Services. He is a graduate of MIT in Civil<br />
Engineering. Thomas was adjunct instructor in<br />
the Department of Computer Science at Pace<br />
University. A published author, he has written<br />
books and articles, including Piping and Pipe<br />
Support Systems - Design and Engineering,<br />
published by McGraw-Hill Publishing Co., and<br />
“A Model for CAD/Analysis Integration,” an article<br />
published in Hydrocarbon Engineering.<br />
Brian Verboort<br />
Brian is an industry veteran with 23 years of<br />
practical design and manufacturing experience<br />
in industry, and 11 years of extensive hands-on<br />
implementation and training experience in the<br />
mechanical design and engineering management<br />
environment. Brian is also an Autodesk ®<br />
Authorized Consultant (AAC) and a member of<br />
the Autodesk Developer Network (ADN).<br />
Paul Wadsworth<br />
Paul is project manager with United Utilities<br />
Service Delivery and has 28 years of experience,<br />
primarily in the electricity industry. He was<br />
trained as a power distribution engineer and<br />
then specialized in information technology to<br />
improve the control and management of<br />
electricity power networks and their assets. Paul<br />
holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, is a member<br />
of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, and is a<br />
qualified Prince2 practitioner. He lives in England<br />
in Bolton, Lancashire.<br />
Vornel Walker<br />
Vornel serves as CAD business development<br />
manager at COADE, responsible for developing<br />
market strategies for the CADWorx suite of<br />
products. Vornel has 18 years of experience as a<br />
piping design engineer for oil, gas, chemical, and<br />
water treatment projects, including 3 years as an<br />
on-site engineer for offshore and onshore<br />
projects in Denmark, Norway, and the U.K. Most<br />
recently, he spent 9 years providing business<br />
development and marketing support for various<br />
AutoCAD ® -based solutions for the piping, HVAC,<br />
electrical, and engineering sectors of the plant<br />
design industry.<br />

Andrew Walther, P.E.<br />
Andrew is a licensed professional engineer in<br />
British Columbia and runs APW Engineering Inc.<br />
During his 8 years as an Autodesk ® Certified<br />
Consultant, he has worked with the City of<br />
Vancouver, City of Nanaimo, and the U.S. Federal<br />
Government. He specializes in implementing<br />
Autodesk ® Land Development and GIS<br />
technologies. Andrew’s focus involves getting<br />
back to the basics: business processes, data<br />
management, and standards. With a professional<br />
background in transportation, municipal<br />
engineering, and field surveys, Andrew offers a<br />
unique blend of industry experience and<br />
application knowledge to clients.<br />
Harry Ward, P.E.<br />
Harry is a registered civil engineer and is certified<br />
as a GPS machine-control expert. He is the<br />
executive vice president for OutSource Inc., a<br />
consulting firm and Autodesk ® Premier Training<br />
Center. He has been an engineering professor at<br />
George Mason University since 1997, an<br />
Autodesk ® Authorized Consultant since 1991, and<br />
an Autodesk ® Registered Developer since 1997.<br />
He serves on the editorial advisory board for<br />
P.O.B. magazine, on the Autodesk GIS Customer<br />
Council, and is GIS chair for AUGI ® .He also<br />
contributes articles to CADENCE, P.O.B., and<br />
other magazines.<br />
Kevin Whitlock<br />
Kevin is a GIS/Mapping professional with 10 years<br />
of experience from Vancouver, Canada. He works<br />
with municipal, provincial, and federal government<br />
agencies, as well as GIS, mapping, photogrammetry,<br />
and engineering firms. As an application<br />
specialist with Autodesk ® reseller, Pacific Alliance<br />
Technologies, Kevin is a resource for 400-plus<br />
clients who need technical support, training, and<br />
product customization and development. He<br />
holds a degree in Geography from Simon<br />
Fraser University. His students have described<br />
his instructional style as entertaining,<br />
comprehensible, and informed.<br />
Steve Williams<br />
Based in New York City, Steve provides<br />
customized consulting, training, and<br />
implementation services to project teams using<br />
Autodesk ® Buzzsaw ® .Since joining buzzsaw.com <br />
in 2000, he has successfully implemented online<br />
collaboration within a wide variety of companies<br />
including Toys ‘R’ Us, Weyerhaeuser, KB Home, and<br />
Robert A.M. Stern. Steve holds a Master of<br />
Engineering Management degree and a B.S. in<br />
Civil Engineering from Duke University. This is<br />
Steve’s second year as a presenter at Autodesk<br />
University ® .<br />
Jerry Winters<br />
Those who have been trained by Jerry Winters<br />
will tell you that you are not only in for an<br />
educational experience, but a really good time as<br />
well. He excels at communicating complex subjects<br />
in a simple manner. Jerry has written several<br />
books on customizing AutoCAD ® with VBA, and<br />
has provided training for a number of Fortune<br />
500 companies. Sign up for his classes, bring a<br />
notepad, a pencil, and a sense of humor!<br />
Tad Wirmel<br />
Tad has worked in the consulting engineering<br />
business for 14-plus years. He began as a drafter<br />
and eventually pursued process piping design, a<br />
discipline he has worked in for the last 10 years.<br />
Tad works as a senior piping designer at Cintas<br />
Corporation, the largest uniform supplier in the<br />
United States. He is responsible for drawing<br />
document management and piping designs,<br />
85 percent of which he creates in 3D. Tad<br />
participates in the AUGI ® guilds and has taught<br />
two ATP courses. He holds an Associate degree in<br />
Mechanical Engineering Technology.<br />
Alexander Wood<br />
Alex has more than 12 years experience with<br />
AutoCAD ® , starting with Release 9, and currently<br />
holds Autodesk certification for nearly all<br />
Autodesk ® products. He works as a technical manager<br />
for an Autodesk ® System Center and is an<br />
AutoCAD and Autodesk ® Architectural Desktop<br />
instructor. Alex is expert in numerous fields<br />
including utilities drafting, civil/environmental<br />
engineering design, 3D hydraulic/electric<br />
machine design and fabrication, CADD project<br />
management, architectural drafting and<br />
visualization, CADD Services systems/personnel<br />
management, and Autodesk product support.<br />
David Zavislan, P.E.<br />
David is the corporate CADD manager at Nolte<br />
Associates, Inc. He supports Nolte’s engineering<br />
and document delivery processes and develops<br />
and implements CADD tools, training, and<br />
standards. A licensed civil engineer, David has<br />
also been an independent CADD consultant,<br />
specializing in civil engineering, surveying, and<br />
mapping. He has also worked as a structural<br />
engineer, staff engineer for a municipal public<br />
works department, project engineer, project<br />
manager, and as a software trainer and consultant<br />
for a software reseller. David earned a<br />
B.S. in Civil Engineering at Colorado State<br />
University in 1985.<br />
Christopher J. Zoog<br />
Christopher is an associate with J. Randolph Parry<br />
Architects, PC, in Moorestown, New Jersey. Over<br />
the past 3 years, he has used Autodesk ® Revit ® to<br />
design and document everything from small<br />
retail interiors to large-scale multifamily apartment<br />
buildings. He is also an editor for accustudio.com,<br />
a worldwide AccuRender resource site. Chris<br />
received a B.S. in Environmental Design from the<br />
University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he<br />
focused his studies on the use of computers in<br />
building and landscape design.
