Michael Tuersley
Michael is the head programmer/consultant for
RAND IMAGINiT Technologies. He has been
working with and programming AutoCAD ® and
related software for 16 years and teaching it for
10 years. Michael’s background includes time
programming, architectural engineering consulting,
designing plastic injection molds, building
residential homes, and teaching at Stark State
College of Technology in Canton, Ohio. He is an
experienced developer using VB, VBA, AutoLISP ® ,
Visual LISP ® ,Cold Fusion, XML, ObjectARX ® , C#,
and Java languages. Michael is also the author of
CADalyst magazine’s “AutoCAD Clinic” column.
Thomas Van Laan, P.E.
Thomas is president and CEO of COADE
Engineering Software in Houston. He has 24
years of plant design experience, and was
formerly employed at Bechtel and Ebasco
Services. He is a graduate of MIT in Civil
Engineering. Thomas was adjunct instructor in
the Department of Computer Science at Pace
University. A published author, he has written
books and articles, including Piping and Pipe
Support Systems - Design and Engineering,
published by McGraw-Hill Publishing Co., and
“A Model for CAD/Analysis Integration,” an article
published in Hydrocarbon Engineering.
Brian Verboort
Brian is an industry veteran with 23 years of
practical design and manufacturing experience
in industry, and 11 years of extensive hands-on
implementation and training experience in the
mechanical design and engineering management
environment. Brian is also an Autodesk ®
Authorized Consultant (AAC) and a member of
the Autodesk Developer Network (ADN).
Paul Wadsworth
Paul is project manager with United Utilities
Service Delivery and has 28 years of experience,
primarily in the electricity industry. He was
trained as a power distribution engineer and
then specialized in information technology to
improve the control and management of
electricity power networks and their assets. Paul
holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, is a member
of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, and is a
qualified Prince2 practitioner. He lives in England
in Bolton, Lancashire.
Vornel Walker
Vornel serves as CAD business development
manager at COADE, responsible for developing
market strategies for the CADWorx suite of
products. Vornel has 18 years of experience as a
piping design engineer for oil, gas, chemical, and
water treatment projects, including 3 years as an
on-site engineer for offshore and onshore
projects in Denmark, Norway, and the U.K. Most
recently, he spent 9 years providing business
development and marketing support for various
AutoCAD ® -based solutions for the piping, HVAC,
electrical, and engineering sectors of the plant
design industry.

Andrew Walther, P.E.
Andrew is a licensed professional engineer in
British Columbia and runs APW Engineering Inc.
During his 8 years as an Autodesk ® Certified
Consultant, he has worked with the City of
Vancouver, City of Nanaimo, and the U.S. Federal
Government. He specializes in implementing
Autodesk ® Land Development and GIS
technologies. Andrew’s focus involves getting
back to the basics: business processes, data
management, and standards. With a professional
background in transportation, municipal
engineering, and field surveys, Andrew offers a
unique blend of industry experience and
application knowledge to clients.
Harry Ward, P.E.
Harry is a registered civil engineer and is certified
as a GPS machine-control expert. He is the
executive vice president for OutSource Inc., a
consulting firm and Autodesk ® Premier Training
Center. He has been an engineering professor at
George Mason University since 1997, an
Autodesk ® Authorized Consultant since 1991, and
an Autodesk ® Registered Developer since 1997.
He serves on the editorial advisory board for
P.O.B. magazine, on the Autodesk GIS Customer
Council, and is GIS chair for AUGI ® .He also
contributes articles to CADENCE, P.O.B., and
other magazines.
Kevin Whitlock
Kevin is a GIS/Mapping professional with 10 years
of experience from Vancouver, Canada. He works
with municipal, provincial, and federal government
agencies, as well as GIS, mapping, photogrammetry,
and engineering firms. As an application
specialist with Autodesk ® reseller, Pacific Alliance
Technologies, Kevin is a resource for 400-plus
clients who need technical support, training, and
product customization and development. He
holds a degree in Geography from Simon
Fraser University. His students have described
his instructional style as entertaining,
comprehensible, and informed.
Steve Williams
Based in New York City, Steve provides
customized consulting, training, and
implementation services to project teams using
Autodesk ® Buzzsaw ® .Since joining buzzsaw.com
in 2000, he has successfully implemented online
collaboration within a wide variety of companies
including Toys ‘R’ Us, Weyerhaeuser, KB Home, and
Robert A.M. Stern. Steve holds a Master of
Engineering Management degree and a B.S. in
Civil Engineering from Duke University. This is
Steve’s second year as a presenter at Autodesk
University ® .
Jerry Winters
Those who have been trained by Jerry Winters
will tell you that you are not only in for an

well. He excels at communicating complex subjects
in a simple manner. Jerry has written several
books on customizing AutoCAD ® with VBA, and
has provided training for a number of Fortune

Tad Wirmel
Tad has worked in the consulting engineering
business for 14-plus years. He began as a drafter
and eventually pursued process piping design, a
discipline he has worked in for the last 10 years.
Tad works as a senior piping designer at Cintas
Corporation, the largest uniform supplier in the
United States. He is responsible for drawing
document management and piping designs,
85 percent of which he creates in 3D. Tad
participates in the AUGI ® guilds and has taught
two ATP courses. He holds an Associate degree in
Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Alexander Wood
Alex has more than 12 years experience with
AutoCAD ® , starting with Release 9, and currently
holds Autodesk certification for nearly all
Autodesk ® products. He works as a technical manager
for an Autodesk ® System Center and is an
AutoCAD and Autodesk ® Architectural Desktop
instructor. Alex is expert in numerous fields
including utilities drafting, civil/environmental
engineering design, 3D hydraulic/electric
machine design and fabrication, CADD project
management, architectural drafting and
visualization, CADD Services systems/personnel
management, and Autodesk product support.
David Zavislan, P.E.
David is the corporate CADD manager at Nolte
Associates, Inc. He supports Nolte’s engineering
and document delivery processes and develops
and implements CADD tools, training, and
standards. A licensed civil engineer, David has
also been an independent CADD consultant,
specializing in civil engineering, surveying, and
mapping. He has also worked as a structural
engineer, staff engineer for a municipal public
works department, project engineer, project
manager, and as a software trainer and consultant
for a software reseller. David earned a
B.S. in Civil Engineering at Colorado State
University in 1985.
Christopher J. Zoog
Christopher is an associate with J. Randolph Parry
Architects, PC, in Moorestown, New Jersey. Over
the past 3 years, he has used Autodesk ® Revit ® to
design and document everything from small
retail interiors to large-scale multifamily apartment
buildings. He is also an editor for accustudio.com,
a worldwide AccuRender resource site. Chris
received a B.S. in Environmental Design from the
University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he
focused his studies on the use of computers in
building and landscape design.
