Dave Simeone
Dave is senior product manager for Autodesk in
the Infrastructure Solutions Division. He is
responsible for product management of
Autodesk ® Land Desktop, Autodesk ® Civil Design,
Autodesk ® Survey, Autodesk ® Civil Series,
Autodesk ® Raster Design, and Autodesk’s new
software product Autodesk ® Civil 3D. Dave
graduated from the University of Massachusetts
in Amherst, and previously worked as a site
designer before joining DCA Software, Softdesk,
and then Autodesk.
Kristen Smith
Kristen has been working with AutoCAD ®
software since 1990. She is the owner of KCS
Consulting, a drafting and CAD consulting
business she started in 1997. She is also an
Autodesk ® Authorized Consultant. Kristen has
managed all aspects of client technical training
courses from design to delivery and evaluation.
She has also authored and delivered curriculum
for several Autodesk ® products, and specializes in
Autodesk ® Architectural Desktop.
Matthew Stachoni
Matt is the CAD and IT Manager for Bernardon
Haber Holloway Architects, P.C., and BHH|Tait
Interiors LLC. He oversees the CAD and IT
operations across both companies and their
three offices located Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Previously, he worked as CAD and IT systems
manager for several architecture firms for 13
years. He was also a consultant to the
Massachusetts General Hospital’s Planning
Department. He has been using, customizing, and
programming AutoCAD ® and related products
since 1987. Matt has participated in Autodesk
University ® since 1998.
Steve Stamatoplos
For 20-plus years, Steve has worked in all areas of
the civil engineering and surveying fields, using
Autodesk ® products since they were first released.
He has taught AutoCAD ® and related civil
engineering software at all levels for 16 years and
brings a practical perspective to the classes he
teaches. Steve is also an Autodesk ® Authorized
AEC Consultant and was recently honored by
Autodesk for 10 years of service in this capacity.
Gary Stephenson
Gary has been active in GIS and AEC imaging for
19 years. His AutoCAD ® experience began with
Image Systems Technology, Inc. as product
manager for the pioneering CAD Overlay ® GSX.
For Softdesk, Inc., Gary continued to focus on
imaging solutions for AEC. He also was co-author
of the solutions courseware for Autodesk ® CAD
Overlay ® Release 14. He now works as a product
designer for imaging products including
Autodesk ® Raster Design. Gary holds M.B.A. and
B.S.E.E. degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute in Troy, New York.
Shawnita Sterett, P.E.
For the past 3 years, Shawnita has worked as a
civil applications engineer at Autodesk helping
engineers in the United States find appropriate
design solutions through technical demonstrations,
seminars, and workshops. Prior to joining
Autodesk, Shawnita worked for 7 years as a civil
engineering consultant using Autodesk ® solutions
in residential and commercial subdivision
development projects. With a primary focus on
grading and drainage design, her experience also
includes utility planning, roadway design, traffic
analysis, and surveying.
Tom Stoeckel
Tom is a software developer at Autodesk. He has
been using AutoCAD ® software and programming
AutoCAD-related applications since 1987. Prior to
joining Autodesk, he was an Autodesk ®
Registered Developer and an ADN member, and
authored several commercial layer management
tools for AutoCAD.Tom was one of the developers
of the AutoCAD ® Express Tools. Most recently, he
has worked on AutoCAD and various Autodesk ®
product extensions.
Eric Stover
Eric is the product manager for AutoCAD ® 2004,
AutoCAD 2002, and i-drop ® technology. He joined
Autodesk in 1996 after 10 years with an energy
management and engineering firm in Phoenix,
Arizona. His work included more than 100 building
energy studies for the Department of Energy,
Motorola, Intel, Con Edison, and Arizona Public
Service, among others. In this role, he developed
several building energy analysis software
programs that are used in the market today. Eric
attended Arizona State University where he
received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering before
completing his MBA in 1994.
Jim Swain
Jim has 20-plus years of experience in the CAD
industry, including 13 years as a product design
engineer and CAD administrator. For the past 6
years, Jim has served as a senior applications
engineer and trainer at Synergis Technologies, an
award-winning Autodesk ® Systems Center. His
responsibilities include courseware development,
classroom and on-site instruction and consulting,
and help desk support for AutoCAD ® and the
Autodesk Inventor ® Series. He has helped hundreds
of engineering professionals at Fortune 1000
companies become more productive and efficient
with Autodesk’s manufacturing solutions.
David Swanson
David is a business productivity advisor with
Microsoft Corporation in Northern California.
He specializes in helping information workers
become more productive with the tools they
currently use or future versions of Microsoft’s
Office System. Specifically, David focuses on
helping the information worker become more
integrated into important business processes,
participate in team scenarios via more effective
communication and collaboration, utilize critical
business information and intelligence, and invest
in personal productivity scenarios to transform
information into personal impact. In a previous
job, David worked for the Department of Energy’s
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory as a
mechanical engineer. He is an alumnus of
Purdue University.
Donnia Tabor-Hanson
Donnia has been using AutoCAD ® since release
1.4. She has taught college-level courses and was
the manager of an Autodesk ® Authorized Training
Center for several years. She has experience using
AutoCAD in a variety of fields including
architecture, material handling, atomic waste
removal and containment, and civil. Donnia
currently works with a log-home design group.
She has been active with AUGI ® since 1995, and
has written extensively for several magazines.
She earned her M.S. in Technological and Adult
Education from the University of Tennessee.
Collecting tips and tricks is her passion.
Chris Talbot
Before joining Autodesk, Chris worked in the
reseller channel as a pre- and post-sales
applications engineer. Previously, he worked for
both Airline Interiors and ICON Health and
Fitness. Specific duties at both positions included
market overview and product positioning, along
with managing product design and new product
presentations to clients.
Richard Taylor, Associate AIA
Richard is a designer working for Autodesk in
Waltham, Massachusetts, where he creates
seminars and presentations for Autodesk ® Revit ®
software. Previously, he worked for other major
architectural CADD companies. He was also a
CADD manager for Archetype, a small design firm
in Boston. He has also worked as an architectural
designer in larger firms in Boston and Baltimore.
Richard is involved in the local Boston Society of
Architects. He holds a B.S. in Architectural Studies
and a Master of Architecture from the University
of Nebraska, Lincoln.
Joe Travis
Joe has worked in GIS and mapping for 10-plus
years. His background includes positions at civil
engineering firms, electric utilities, and fieldinventory
mapping companies. Joe is an expert
at capturing field information, processing that
data with a variety of software programs, and
distributing it via the Web or handheld devices.
His presentations take advantage of his realworld
experience to demonstrate the workflow
of geographic information. Joe has a degree in
Geography from the University of Georgia.
