Dave Simeone<br />
Dave is senior product manager for Autodesk in<br />
the Infrastructure Solutions Division. He is<br />
responsible for product management of<br />
Autodesk ® Land Desktop, Autodesk ® Civil Design,<br />
Autodesk ® Survey, Autodesk ® Civil Series,<br />
Autodesk ® Raster Design, and Autodesk’s new<br />
software product Autodesk ® Civil 3D. Dave<br />
graduated from the University of Massachusetts<br />
in Amherst, and previously worked as a site<br />
designer before joining DCA Software, Softdesk,<br />
and then Autodesk.<br />
Kristen Smith<br />
Kristen has been working with AutoCAD ®<br />
software since 1990. She is the owner of KCS<br />
Consulting, a drafting and CAD consulting<br />
business she started in 1997. She is also an<br />
Autodesk ® Authorized Consultant. Kristen has<br />
managed all aspects of client technical training<br />
courses from design to delivery and evaluation.<br />
She has also authored and delivered curriculum<br />
for several Autodesk ® products, and specializes in<br />
Autodesk ® Architectural Desktop.<br />
Matthew Stachoni<br />
Matt is the CAD and IT Manager for Bernardon<br />
Haber Holloway Architects, P.C., and BHH|Tait<br />
Interiors LLC. He oversees the CAD and IT<br />
operations across both companies and their<br />
three offices located Pennsylvania and Delaware.<br />
Previously, he worked as CAD and IT systems<br />
manager for several architecture firms for 13<br />
years. He was also a consultant to the<br />
Massachusetts General Hospital’s Planning<br />
Department. He has been using, customizing, and<br />
programming AutoCAD ® and related products<br />
since 1987. Matt has participated in Autodesk<br />
University ® since 1998.<br />
Steve Stamatoplos<br />
For 20-plus years, Steve has worked in all areas of<br />
the civil engineering and surveying fields, using<br />
Autodesk ® products since they were first released.<br />
He has taught AutoCAD ® and related civil<br />
engineering software at all levels for 16 years and<br />
brings a practical perspective to the classes he<br />
teaches. Steve is also an Autodesk ® Authorized<br />
AEC Consultant and was recently honored by<br />
Autodesk for 10 years of service in this capacity.<br />
Gary Stephenson<br />
Gary has been active in GIS and AEC imaging for<br />
19 years. His AutoCAD ® experience began with<br />
Image Systems Technology, Inc. as product<br />
manager for the pioneering CAD Overlay ® GSX.<br />
For Softdesk, Inc., Gary continued to focus on<br />
imaging solutions for AEC. He also was co-author<br />
of the solutions courseware for Autodesk ® CAD<br />
Overlay ® Release 14. He now works as a product<br />
designer for imaging products including<br />
Autodesk ® Raster Design. Gary holds M.B.A. and<br />
B.S.E.E. degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic<br />
Institute in Troy, New York.<br />
Shawnita Sterett, P.E.<br />
For the past 3 years, Shawnita has worked as a<br />
civil applications engineer at Autodesk helping<br />
engineers in the United States find appropriate<br />
design solutions through technical demonstrations,<br />
seminars, and workshops. Prior to joining<br />
Autodesk, Shawnita worked for 7 years as a civil<br />
engineering consultant using Autodesk ® solutions<br />
in residential and commercial subdivision<br />
development projects. With a primary focus on<br />
grading and drainage design, her experience also<br />
includes utility planning, roadway design, traffic<br />
analysis, and surveying.<br />
Tom Stoeckel<br />
Tom is a software developer at Autodesk. He has<br />
been using AutoCAD ® software and programming<br />
AutoCAD-related applications since 1987. Prior to<br />
joining Autodesk, he was an Autodesk ®<br />
Registered Developer and an ADN member, and<br />
authored several commercial layer management<br />
tools for AutoCAD.Tom was one of the developers<br />
of the AutoCAD ® Express Tools. Most recently, he<br />
has worked on AutoCAD and various Autodesk ®<br />
product extensions.<br />
Eric Stover<br />
Eric is the product manager for AutoCAD ® 2004,<br />
AutoCAD 2002, and i-drop ® technology. He joined<br />
Autodesk in 1996 after 10 years with an energy<br />
management and engineering firm in Phoenix,<br />
Arizona. His work included more than 100 building<br />
energy studies for the Department of Energy,<br />
Motorola, Intel, Con Edison, and Arizona Public<br />
Service, among others. In this role, he developed<br />
several building energy analysis software<br />
programs that are used in the market today. Eric<br />
attended Arizona State University where he<br />
received a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering before<br />
completing his MBA in 1994.<br />
Jim Swain<br />
Jim has 20-plus years of experience in the CAD<br />
industry, including 13 years as a product design<br />
engineer and CAD administrator. For the past 6<br />
years, Jim has served as a senior applications<br />
engineer and trainer at Synergis Technologies, an<br />
award-winning Autodesk ® Systems Center. His<br />
responsibilities include courseware development,<br />
classroom and on-site instruction and consulting,<br />
and help desk support for AutoCAD ® and the<br />
Autodesk Inventor ® Series. He has helped hundreds<br />
of engineering professionals at Fortune 1000<br />
companies become more productive and efficient<br />
with Autodesk’s manufacturing solutions.<br />
David Swanson<br />
David is a business productivity advisor with<br />
Microsoft Corporation in Northern California.<br />
He specializes in helping information workers<br />
become more productive with the tools they<br />
currently use or future versions of Microsoft’s<br />
Office System. Specifically, David focuses on<br />
helping the information worker become more<br />
<strong>integr</strong>ated into important business processes,<br />
participate in team scenarios via more effective<br />
communication and collaboration, utilize critical<br />
business information and intelligence, and invest<br />
in personal productivity scenarios to transform<br />
information into personal impact. In a previous<br />
job, David worked for the Department of Energy’s<br />
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory as a<br />
mechanical engineer. He is an alumnus of<br />
Purdue University.<br />
Donnia Tabor-Hanson<br />
Donnia has been using AutoCAD ® since release<br />
1.4. She has taught college-level courses and was<br />
the manager of an Autodesk ® Authorized Training<br />
Center for several years. She has experience using<br />
AutoCAD in a variety of fields including<br />
architecture, material handling, atomic waste<br />
removal and containment, and civil. Donnia<br />
currently works with a log-home design group.<br />
She has been active with AUGI ® since 1995, and<br />
has written extensively for several magazines.<br />
She earned her M.S. in Technological and Adult<br />
Education from the University of Tennessee.<br />
Collecting tips and tricks is her passion.<br />
Chris Talbot<br />
Before joining Autodesk, Chris worked in the<br />
reseller channel as a pre- and post-sales<br />
applications engineer. Previously, he worked for<br />
both Airline Interiors and ICON Health and<br />
Fitness. Specific duties at both positions included<br />
market overview and product positioning, along<br />
with managing product design and new product<br />
presentations to clients.<br />
Richard Taylor, Associate AIA<br />
Richard is a designer working for Autodesk in<br />
Waltham, Massachusetts, where he creates<br />
seminars and presentations for Autodesk ® Revit ®<br />
software. Previously, he worked for other major<br />
architectural CADD companies. He was also a<br />
CADD manager for Archetype, a small design firm<br />
in Boston. He has also worked as an architectural<br />
designer in larger firms in Boston and Baltimore.<br />
Richard is involved in the local Boston Society of<br />
Architects. He holds a B.S. in Architectural Studies<br />
and a Master of Architecture from the University<br />
of Nebraska, Lincoln.<br />
Joe Travis<br />
Joe has worked in GIS and mapping for 10-plus<br />
years. His background includes positions at civil<br />
engineering firms, electric utilities, and fieldinventory<br />
mapping companies. Joe is an expert<br />
at capturing field information, processing that<br />
data with a variety of software programs, and<br />
distributing it via the Web or handheld devices.<br />
His presentations take advantage of his realworld<br />
experience to demonstrate the workflow<br />
of geographic information. Joe has a degree in<br />
Geography from the University of Georgia.<br />
