Scott Pearson<br />
Scott is the owner of Pearson Consulting &<br />
Training Services, and is an Autodesk ® Authorized<br />
Consultant with 20 years of experience in<br />
mechanical engineering design. Scott provides<br />
the manufacturing industry with on-site,<br />
advanced modeling services as well as customized<br />
CADD training in AutoCAD ® ,Autodesk Inventor ® ,<br />
and Autodesk ® Mechanical Desktop ® software.<br />
Scott has presented at previous AU conferences.<br />
As one of Autodesk’s e-learning instructors, he<br />
has developed and delivered web-based Virtual<br />
Classroom training materials. He has also written<br />
for Autodesk’s Point A Toplines. In 1999, Scott<br />
received Autodesk’s Top Instructor award.<br />
Alex Penney<br />
Alex has worked in local government agencies<br />
and municipal districts providing GIS and data<br />
management solutions as an independent<br />
consultant. As the GIS training manager for<br />
Autodesk, Alex managed the development of<br />
materials and trainers to Autodesk partners for<br />
more than 5 years. He has personally trained<br />
more than 1000 Autodesk Map users worldwide.<br />
Eddie Perlberg<br />
Eddie is a project manager in the Visualize<br />
Success division of R.A. Smith & Associates, Inc., a<br />
leading engineering, surveying, and technical<br />
services consultant in the Midwest. Scott has 15<br />
years of experience developing architectural and<br />
visualization solutions. He has taught a variety of<br />
classes and is a recognized speaker at numerous<br />
seminars. Eddie is also a contributing animator<br />
for the Bradley Center, home of the Milwaukee<br />
Bucks, Admirals, Wave, and Marquette Golden<br />
Eagles. He is experienced as a CAD manager,<br />
designer, and visualization artist.<br />
Bob Phillips<br />
Bob is a data architect specializing in Geographic<br />
Information Systems in the Broadband Wireless<br />
Group at Sprint. He specializes in geographic<br />
analysis, creating GIS prototypes, and developing<br />
online Geographic Information Systems<br />
employing Autodesk MapGuide ® .Bob holds a<br />
B.A. and M.A. in Mathematics from the University<br />
of California, Berkeley.<br />
Stephan Plabst<br />
Stephan studied geodesy and geoinformation at<br />
the Technische Universitaet Muenchen and<br />
graduated with the German degree of<br />
“Diplom-Ingenieur” (similar to a master’s degree).<br />
Currently, he is assistant lecturer at the Institute<br />
for Geodesy, GIS, and Land Management at the<br />
Technische Universitaet Muenchen. He is now<br />
doing research in mobile GIS and interoperability<br />
with OpenGIS.<br />
Gary Ponsell<br />
Gary is a technical specialist and training<br />
instructor with the national solutions provider<br />
and certified Autodesk ® Service Center, Avatech<br />
Solutions, Inc. He has been teaching Autodesk ®<br />
products since 1996 and has co-authored several<br />
training guides at Avatech. Gary has contributed<br />
articles to the Point A Toplines newsletter, and has<br />
presented at four AU conferences.<br />
David Pothier<br />
Dave is a senior applications engineer with<br />
Autodesk, based in Manchester, New Hampshire.<br />
He has worked at Softdesk and Autodesk since<br />
1990 and has been working with Autodesk ® AEC<br />
products since 1987. During this time, he has also<br />
worked in product design, QA, technical support,<br />
and product development. Previously, Dave<br />
worked for a consulting engineering firm in New<br />
Hampshire. He attended Bridgewater State<br />
College, majoring in computer science.<br />
Allen Preger<br />
Allen is responsible for business development<br />
activities at Marinsoft. Prior to joining Marinsoft,<br />
Allen was the AEC market development manager<br />
for Autodesk, providing technical and marketing<br />
guidance to Autodesk’s worldwide sales force.<br />
Prior to Autodesk, he was the Asia Pacific sales<br />
manager for Softdesk, Inc., and established<br />
Softdesk’s regional headquarters in Singapore in<br />
1995. Earlier in his career, Allen worked as an<br />
application engineer for Archsoft Group, Inc. He<br />
holds a B.S. in Economics and Mathematics from<br />
Occidental College.<br />
Gordon Price<br />
An AutoCAD ® user since 1990 and a consultant<br />
since 1994, Gordon is currently the CAD Manager<br />
at Thomas Hacker Architects in Portland, Oregon.<br />
His architectural experience includes work as a<br />
designer, job captain, and web developer. Gordon<br />
continues to consult with firms in Portland and<br />
Silicon Valley, focusing on small-office technology.<br />
He is currently finishing his thesis for a master’s<br />
in Architecture degree at San Francisco Institute<br />
of Architecture.<br />
Felicia Provencal<br />
Felicia is an Autodesk ® Authorized Consultant<br />
based in Hawaii with more than 17 years of<br />
experience working with AutoCAD ® ,Autodesk<br />
Map ,Autodesk ® Land Desktop, Autodesk ® Civil<br />
Design, Autodesk ® Survey, Autodesk ® Field Survey,<br />
and Autodesk ® Raster Design software. She writes<br />
the monthly tutorial on civil software products<br />
for Point A Toplines.A popular Autodesk<br />
University ® instructor, Felicia conducts workshops<br />
and seminars and provides consulting and<br />
training services throughout the United States<br />
and the Pacific Basin.<br />
Jim Quanci<br />
Jim is senior manager of the Autodesk Developer<br />
Network (ADN) worldwide—an international<br />
network of 2500 ADN members. Jim also serves<br />
as the process plant industry representative for<br />
Global Business Development at Autodesk. He<br />
has 15-plus years of engineering and design<br />
experience, and has spent the past decade working<br />
closely with Autodesk’s leading technology<br />
partners. Jim is a frequent presenter and consultant<br />
on software development technologies to<br />
leading design software firms and Fortune 500<br />
companies. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical<br />
Engineering from the Cooper Union and an MBA<br />
in International Marketing from San Francisco<br />
State University.<br />
Carl Reed<br />
Carl is the executive director for the OGC<br />
Specification Program. Prior to his current position,<br />
he was an independent GIS consultant. During<br />
his long and distinguished career, Carl has held<br />
positions as president and vice-president of<br />
software companies. His accomplishments<br />
include designing and implementing two major<br />
GIS packages. Carl has published dozens of<br />
papers and been a keynote speaker at numerous<br />
GIS conferences. In 1996, he was voted as one<br />
of the 10 most influential people in the GIS<br />
industry. He obtained his Ph.D. in GIS from SUNY,<br />
Buffalo in 1979.<br />
Jody Reynolds<br />
Jody Reynolds is an applications engineer with<br />
Microdesk. He has six years of experience in<br />
planning, site analysis, and design in the civil/survey<br />
field. With Microdesk, Jody is responsible for<br />
providing technical support, training, and<br />
consulting on AutoCAD, Autodesk Map, Autodesk<br />
Land Desktop, Autodesk Civil Design, and<br />
Autodesk Survey software. He has also served as<br />
a CAD manager for a civil/survey firm. Jody<br />
frequently presents technical workshops at<br />
various professional organizations, meetings, and<br />
conferences throughout the Northeast. Jody<br />
earned his degree in Civil Technology from the<br />
University of New Hampshire.<br />
Joel Roderick<br />
Joel is currently project designer and CAD<br />
technologies manager at Water Technology, Inc.,<br />
an aquatic planning, design, and engineering firm<br />
in Beaver Dam,Wisconsin. Joel is responsible for<br />
the conceptual design of aquatic recreation/<br />
competition facilities and water parks, as well as<br />
all AutoCAD management and customization.<br />
For the past 5 years, Joel has been developing<br />
Water Technology’s proprietary AutoCAD plug-in,<br />
Aquatic Desktop, using Visual LISP ® ,VBA,and<br />
