Scott Pearson
Scott is the owner of Pearson Consulting &
Training Services, and is an Autodesk ® Authorized
Consultant with 20 years of experience in
mechanical engineering design. Scott provides
the manufacturing industry with on-site,
advanced modeling services as well as customized
CADD training in AutoCAD ® ,Autodesk Inventor ® ,
and Autodesk ® Mechanical Desktop ® software.
Scott has presented at previous AU conferences.
As one of Autodesk’s e-learning instructors, he
has developed and delivered web-based Virtual
Classroom training materials. He has also written
for Autodesk’s Point A Toplines. In 1999, Scott
received Autodesk’s Top Instructor award.
Alex Penney
Alex has worked in local government agencies
and municipal districts providing GIS and data
management solutions as an independent
consultant. As the GIS training manager for
Autodesk, Alex managed the development of
materials and trainers to Autodesk partners for
more than 5 years. He has personally trained
more than 1000 Autodesk Map users worldwide.
Eddie Perlberg
Eddie is a project manager in the Visualize
Success division of R.A. Smith & Associates, Inc., a
leading engineering, surveying, and technical
services consultant in the Midwest. Scott has 15
years of experience developing architectural and
visualization solutions. He has taught a variety of
classes and is a recognized speaker at numerous
seminars. Eddie is also a contributing animator
for the Bradley Center, home of the Milwaukee
Bucks, Admirals, Wave, and Marquette Golden
Eagles. He is experienced as a CAD manager,
designer, and visualization artist.
Bob Phillips
Bob is a data architect specializing in Geographic
Information Systems in the Broadband Wireless
Group at Sprint. He specializes in geographic
analysis, creating GIS prototypes, and developing
online Geographic Information Systems
employing Autodesk MapGuide ® .Bob holds a
B.A. and M.A. in Mathematics from the University
of California, Berkeley.
Stephan Plabst
Stephan studied geodesy and geoinformation at
the Technische Universitaet Muenchen and
graduated with the German degree of
“Diplom-Ingenieur” (similar to a master’s degree).
Currently, he is assistant lecturer at the Institute
for Geodesy, GIS, and Land Management at the
Technische Universitaet Muenchen. He is now
doing research in mobile GIS and interoperability
with OpenGIS.
Gary Ponsell
Gary is a technical specialist and training
instructor with the national solutions provider
and certified Autodesk ® Service Center, Avatech
Solutions, Inc. He has been teaching Autodesk ®
products since 1996 and has co-authored several
training guides at Avatech. Gary has contributed
articles to the Point A Toplines newsletter, and has
presented at four AU conferences.
David Pothier
Dave is a senior applications engineer with
Autodesk, based in Manchester, New Hampshire.
He has worked at Softdesk and Autodesk since
1990 and has been working with Autodesk ® AEC
products since 1987. During this time, he has also
worked in product design, QA, technical support,
and product development. Previously, Dave
worked for a consulting engineering firm in New
Hampshire. He attended Bridgewater State
College, majoring in computer science.
Allen Preger
Allen is responsible for business development
activities at Marinsoft. Prior to joining Marinsoft,
Allen was the AEC market development manager
for Autodesk, providing technical and marketing
guidance to Autodesk’s worldwide sales force.
Prior to Autodesk, he was the Asia Pacific sales
manager for Softdesk, Inc., and established
Softdesk’s regional headquarters in Singapore in
1995. Earlier in his career, Allen worked as an
application engineer for Archsoft Group, Inc. He
holds a B.S. in Economics and Mathematics from
Occidental College.
Gordon Price
An AutoCAD ® user since 1990 and a consultant
since 1994, Gordon is currently the CAD Manager
at Thomas Hacker Architects in Portland, Oregon.
His architectural experience includes work as a
designer, job captain, and web developer. Gordon
continues to consult with firms in Portland and
Silicon Valley, focusing on small-office technology.
He is currently finishing his thesis for a master’s
in Architecture degree at San Francisco Institute
of Architecture.
Felicia Provencal
Felicia is an Autodesk ® Authorized Consultant
based in Hawaii with more than 17 years of
experience working with AutoCAD ® ,Autodesk
Map ,Autodesk ® Land Desktop, Autodesk ® Civil
Design, Autodesk ® Survey, Autodesk ® Field Survey,
and Autodesk ® Raster Design software. She writes
the monthly tutorial on civil software products
for Point A Toplines.A popular Autodesk
University ® instructor, Felicia conducts workshops
and seminars and provides consulting and
training services throughout the United States
and the Pacific Basin.
Jim Quanci
Jim is senior manager of the Autodesk Developer
Network (ADN) worldwide—an international
network of 2500 ADN members. Jim also serves
as the process plant industry representative for
Global Business Development at Autodesk. He
has 15-plus years of engineering and design
experience, and has spent the past decade working
closely with Autodesk’s leading technology
partners. Jim is a frequent presenter and consultant
on software development technologies to
leading design software firms and Fortune 500
companies. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical
Engineering from the Cooper Union and an MBA
in International Marketing from San Francisco
State University.
Carl Reed
Carl is the executive director for the OGC
Specification Program. Prior to his current position,
he was an independent GIS consultant. During
his long and distinguished career, Carl has held
positions as president and vice-president of
software companies. His accomplishments
include designing and implementing two major
GIS packages. Carl has published dozens of
papers and been a keynote speaker at numerous
GIS conferences. In 1996, he was voted as one
of the 10 most influential people in the GIS
industry. He obtained his Ph.D. in GIS from SUNY,
Buffalo in 1979.
Jody Reynolds
Jody Reynolds is an applications engineer with
Microdesk. He has six years of experience in
planning, site analysis, and design in the civil/survey
field. With Microdesk, Jody is responsible for
providing technical support, training, and
consulting on AutoCAD, Autodesk Map, Autodesk
Land Desktop, Autodesk Civil Design, and
Autodesk Survey software. He has also served as
a CAD manager for a civil/survey firm. Jody
frequently presents technical workshops at
various professional organizations, meetings, and
conferences throughout the Northeast. Jody
earned his degree in Civil Technology from the
University of New Hampshire.
Joel Roderick
Joel is currently project designer and CAD
technologies manager at Water Technology, Inc.,
an aquatic planning, design, and engineering firm
in Beaver Dam,Wisconsin. Joel is responsible for
the conceptual design of aquatic recreation/
competition facilities and water parks, as well as
all AutoCAD management and customization.
For the past 5 years, Joel has been developing
Water Technology’s proprietary AutoCAD plug-in,
Aquatic Desktop, using Visual LISP ® ,VBA,and
ObjectDCL.
