Watching DVB broadcasts<br />

Conditional Access Module (CI<br />

Module)<br />

In order to receive coded digital stations, a Conditional<br />

Access Module (CI Module) and a CA Card must be<br />

inserted in the CI slot of your TV set. (Page 6)<br />

The CI Module and the CA Card are not supplied<br />

accessories. They are usually available from your<br />

dealer.<br />

Inserting the CA Card into the CI Module<br />

1 Make sure the TV set is switched off with the<br />

main power switch (a) on the set, or pull the<br />

AC plug.<br />

With the side with the gold coloured contact<br />

chip facing the side of the CI Module marked<br />

with the provider’s logo, push the CA Card<br />

into the CI Module as far as it will go. Note the<br />

direction of the arrow printed on the CA Card.<br />

Inserting the CI Module in the CI slot<br />

Remove the rear terminal cover.<br />

Remove the CI slot cover.<br />

Carefully insert the CI<br />

Module in CI slot 1 or CI slot<br />

2 with the contact side<br />

forward.<br />

The logo on the CI Module<br />

must be facing outward,<br />

from the rear of the TV. Do<br />

not use excessive force.<br />

Make sure the module is not<br />

bent in the process.<br />

If the CI Module is correctly installed, the eject<br />

button protrudes a little further.<br />

Switching on the TV set<br />

After powering on with the new CI Module inserted,<br />

a dialogue will appear. You must conduct a station<br />

search.<br />

Press OK to start the station wizard.<br />

Check the recommended search routine<br />

parameters and then start the search.<br />

7 Replace the cover.<br />

Checking CI Module information<br />

NOTE<br />

• Make sure that CI Module is properly inserted.<br />

• This menu is only available for digital stations.<br />

Press MENU and the TV menu screen displays.<br />

Press c/d to select “Setup”, and then press b<br />

to move down.<br />

Press a/b to select “Miscellaneous”, and then<br />

press b to move down.<br />

Press c/d to select the CI Module you want to<br />

check, and then press OK.<br />

• The content of this menu depends on the provider of<br />

the CI Module.<br />

Removing the CI Module<br />

• Switch off the TV set’s main power switch (a).<br />

1 Remove the cover from the rear of<br />

the set.<br />

Press in the eject button on the<br />

appropriate module slot, and the<br />

module will release.<br />

Remove the module from the set.<br />

Replace the cover.
