EUROINVENT <strong>2012</strong><br />

research border areas (cosmetogenomics, proteomics, etc) has as<br />

consequence the better understanding of skin ageing induced<br />

changes and to validate the efficacy of cosmetic ingredients.<br />

Based on this depth characterization, Biotehnos<br />

Laboratories have developed from three Romanian medicinal<br />

plants, new anti-ageing active ingredients, targeting different<br />

aspects of this phenomena: restoring the fibril organization in<br />

superficial wound healing (saponozidic compound from<br />

Callendula Officinalis), estrogen-like action (bioactive<br />

complexes from Trifolium pratense and Trigonella<br />

foenumgraecum), photo protective effect, counteracting the<br />

cellular damages induced by UV-A and UV-B radiation ( a<br />

phyto-complex from Trigonella foenumgraecum).<br />

All these vegetal ingredients are selective extracts and<br />

purified substances with a specific design in order to interact<br />

with the cellular / molecular target, produced through new<br />

technologies based on the fully capitalization of vegetal raw<br />

materials. The starting process is the ecologic growing of plants,<br />

followed by selective extraction in steps and separation of active<br />

components, ending with the recycling of the vegetal waste as<br />

provender for animals or organic fertilizer.<br />

Cellular and genomic research for the ingredients<br />

design, together with the fully exploitation of vegetal raw<br />

material through advanced technologies will assure a positive<br />

impact on the quality of the new products.<br />

Research activities were done during Dermolab project, with<br />

financial contribution from <strong>Europe</strong>an Union (POS CCE ID 383<br />

SMIS CSNR 6009 CTR 107/2010).<br />
