have an increased risk of relapse. In this sense, it is generally a ‘self-limiting’ illness.<br />

The signs <strong>and</strong> symptoms of acute lobar pneumonia show a deviation from the normal similar<br />

to what we find in the pathophysiology (table 2.2.): There is, on all levels, an intensified<br />

dissolution process, the reaction to stimuli is decreased <strong>and</strong> normal consolidating processes<br />

are held up.<br />
