Certiorari—Summary Dispositions
No. 06–1039. Estate of Roger Roxas, et al., Petitioners v. Jerry S.
Pimentel, Temporary Administrator of the Estate of Mariano J. Pimentel,
deceased, et al. On petition for writ of certiorari to the United
States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. The Court reversed the
judgment below in Republic of Philippines v. Pimentel, 553 U. S. –––
(2008). Therefore, the petition for writ of certiorari is granted, and case
is remanded to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
for further proceedings.
No. 07–153. Saifullah Paracha, Petitioner v. George W. Bush, President
of the United States, et al. On petition for writ of certiorari to
the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Petition for writ of certiorari granted. Judgment vacated, and case
remanded to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of
Columbia Circuit for further consideration in light of Boumediene v.
Bush, 553 U. S. ––– (2008).
No. 07–416. Abu Abdul Rauf Zalita, Petitioner v. George W. Bush,
President of the United States, et al. On petition for writ of certiorari
to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia
Circuit. Petition for writ of certiorari granted. Judgment vacated, and
case remanded to the United States Court of Appeals for the District
of Columbia Circuit for further consideration in light of Boumediene v.
Bush, 553 U. S. ––– (2008).
No. 07–495. Lavonna Eddy and Kathy Lander, Petitioners v. Waffle
House, Inc. On petition for writ of certiorari to the United States Court
of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Petition for writ of certiorari
granted. Judgment vacated, and case remanded to the United States
Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit for further consideration in
light of Taylor v. Sturgell, 553 U. S. ––– (2008).
