Securing seams<br />

For fastening the ends of seams, press the reverse button<br />

and sew several reverse stitches.<br />

The machine sews in reverse as long as you press and<br />

hold the reverse button.<br />

Press the reverse button once when sewing the<br />

lock-a-matic stitch (pattern U2) or locking stitch (pattern<br />

U3) and the machine will lock the stitches off and stop<br />

automatically.<br />

Cutting threads<br />

To cut the threads after finishing sewing, press the thread<br />

cutter button. The needle bar and presser foot will automatically<br />

go up after trimming the threads.<br />

NOTES:<br />

The thread cutter button does not function when the<br />

presser foot is up.<br />

Use the thread cutter on the face plate to cut specialized<br />

or thick threads if the auto thread cutter does not work<br />

well.<br />

To use the thread cutter on the face plate, remove the<br />

fabric and draw it to the back.<br />

Pull the threads up and slip them between the thread<br />

cutter and face plate from behind.<br />

Pull the threads toward you to cut.<br />

Using the seam guide lines<br />

The seam guides on the needle plate and hook cover<br />

help you measure seam allowance.<br />

NOTE:<br />

The numbers on the needle plate indicate the distance<br />

from the center needle position in millimeters and inches.<br />

Angle scale on the needle plate<br />

The angle scales are marked at 45, 60, 90 and 120<br />

degrees.<br />

Use the broken lines when piecing the patchwork pieces<br />

with the 1/4” seam foot O.
