Candidates are not expected to appreciate the difference between sn(σ n) and sn–1 (σ n–1). χ 2 tests will only be<br />
expected on one row of data.<br />
Questions involving the use of descriptive statistics and the statistical tests described above may be set on<br />
Components 1, 2 and 3. The use of a spreadsheet to collate, analyse and present data from an individual or<br />
group study could form part of the Optional Formative Assessment.<br />
Electronic calculators will be allowed in the examination, subject to the CIE general regulations.<br />
