3.2 <strong>Hydro</strong>logy<br />
Measurement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> flows deriving from <strong>the</strong> hilly topography, variable rains, and complex<br />
geology have generally been kept independently on both sides <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> border, through <strong>the</strong><br />
gauging stations shown in Figure 3.3.<br />

3.2.1 Flows measured in Lebanon<br />
As no record-‐keeping was possible during <strong>the</strong> period <strong>of</strong> Israeli invasion and occupation,<br />
Hasbani flow records in Lebanon are available from 1968 – 1974, and from 2002 onwards, 7<br />
as shown in Table 3.1 and Figure 3.4. While <strong>the</strong> gauging station at <strong>the</strong> Hasbani Springs is new<br />
