Griselinia littoralis<br />

Griselinia littoralis is a tree <strong>of</strong> local distribution, associated with<br />

high altitude habitats in Northland recorded from Waipoua (SSBI O06/<br />

H015), Mataraua (SSBI O06/H013) and Waima Forests (SSBI O06/H010)<br />

all O06/001, Marlborough P06/042 (SSBI P06/H040), and Kaihu Forests<br />

P07/001 (SSBI P07/H001) in this <strong>Ecological</strong> <strong>District</strong>.<br />

Gunnera monioca<br />

Gunnera monioca is a perennial herb found in damp places such as<br />

boggy ground and alongside streams (Allan 1961) and in gumland habitat<br />

(L. J. Forester pers. comm.). Recorded in this <strong>Ecological</strong> <strong>District</strong> from<br />

Waipoua (SSBI O06/H015) and Mataraua Forests (SSBI O06/H013), both<br />

part <strong>of</strong> O06/001.<br />

hebe diosmifolia<br />

Hebe diosmifolia is a Northland endemic with has lavender to white<br />

flowers in the spring and is found in scattered populations in Northland<br />

(L. J. Forester pers. comm.). In this <strong>Ecological</strong> <strong>District</strong> it is recorded from<br />

the Waipoua River area, part <strong>of</strong> O06/001 (SSBI O06/H015).<br />

hebe flavida<br />

Hebe flavida (Hebe aff. “yellow petioles”) is endemic to Northland<br />

where it is mostly known from upland <strong>areas</strong> including cloud forest. It<br />

has been recorded in this <strong>Ecological</strong> <strong>District</strong> from Waipoua (SSBI O06/<br />

H015) and Waima Forests (SSBI O06/H010), both part <strong>of</strong> O06/001, Katui<br />

Scenic Reserve and Surrounds O07/001 and Maunganui Bluff O07/009<br />

(SSBI O07/H001).<br />

hebe macrocarpa var. macrocarpa<br />

Hebe macrocarpa var. macrocarpa is a relatively tall Hebe which is<br />

uncommon in Northland. Recorded in this <strong>Ecological</strong> <strong>District</strong> from Waima<br />

Forest, part <strong>of</strong> O06/001 (L. J. Forester pers. comm.).<br />

helichrysum lanceolatum<br />

Helichrysum lanceolatum is a tomentose shrub found at Maunganui Bluff<br />

O07/009 (SSBI O07/H001), Marlborough P06/042 (P06/H040) and Waima<br />

Forests, part <strong>of</strong> O06/001 (SSBI O06/H015) in this <strong>Ecological</strong> <strong>District</strong>.<br />

hymenophyllum armstrongii<br />

Records <strong>of</strong> the filmy fern Hymenophyllum armstrongii are uncommon in<br />

Northland, it maybe that this fern has been undercollected (L. J. Forester<br />

pers. comm.). Records from this <strong>Ecological</strong> <strong>District</strong> include Waipoua (SSBI<br />

O06/H015), Mataraua (SSBI O06/H013) and Waima Forests (SSBI O06/<br />

H010) all O06/001, Marlborough P06/042 (P06/H040) and Kaihu Forests<br />

P07/001 (SSBI P07/H001).<br />

hymenophyllum cupressiforme<br />

Hymenophyllum cupressiforme is an uncommon filmy fern usually<br />

found on rocks in light shade (Brownsey and Smith-Dodsworth 2000)<br />

recorded from the Waima Forest, part <strong>of</strong> O06/001 (SSBI O06/H015) in<br />

this <strong>Ecological</strong> <strong>District</strong>.<br />
