Peer specialists are integral to expanding prevention and wellness services. Explore the peer-driven services that can<br />

reduce the death and disability associated with tobacco use. Learn about a program that trains peer specialists and provider<br />

trainers to extend existing tobacco cessation services through community awareness building, brief motivational<br />

intervention, six-session groups, and positive social networking strategies. This train-the-trainer program currently helps<br />

people with mental illnesses and addictions reduce and quit tobacco use across 14 states.<br />
