IHRSA IS COMMITTED to being a one-stop source for club operators, providing its members with<br />

resources that assist them in building their business and increasing their bottom line. Every year,<br />

IHRSA updates these resources and adds new, valuable materials created by industry experts in<br />

response to members’ requests for guidance.<br />

“Our objective is to help IHRSA members by providing resources that will help them operate their<br />

clubs more efficiently, whether it’s through a publication on best retention practices or a training<br />

DVD for club employees on sales,” Phoebe Anderson, IHRSA’s publications coordinator, tells CBI. “Our<br />

exclusive reports, such as Profiles of Success and the Employee Compensation Report, are vital to<br />

club owners who want to continuously compare their operating statistics to the industry benchmarks.”<br />

This year, IHRSA is offering many new and updated resources to its members, including the following:<br />

IHRSA Print On Demand<br />

For busy clubs of all sizes and types, IHRSA has simplified the marketing process by creating<br />

these professional, predesigned marketing materials—newsletters, flyers, brochures, direct mail, and<br />

sales pieces. They can be easily customized with a company’s logo, address, and special messaging,<br />

printed on demand.<br />

“We developed IHRSA Print On Demand in response to requests by members who want the<br />

quality of IHRSA research customized with their own club branding,” explains Anderson.<br />

2007 IHRSA Profiles of Success Report<br />

The 2007 <strong>In</strong>dustry Data Survey, conducted by IHRSA and the research firm <strong>In</strong>dustry <strong>In</strong>sights, gathers<br />

the latest statistics on the North American health club industry. The survey results, which are<br />

compiled and published in the form of Profiles of Success, include data on membership, patronage,<br />

industry revenues, member market share, member demographics, operating benchmarks, club<br />

growth by region, club prices, payroll, income statement statistics, balance-sheet data, profitability<br />

ratios, and more. Profiles of Success is available in print or PDF format. New this year: IHRSA is<br />

making it easier for clubs to purchase individual sections of the report, which is divided into four<br />

parts, separately.<br />

“With this publication, the club owner has a wealth of knowledge to work with,” notes Anderson. ><br />
