Thefollowing verses are taken down from recitation, and are
averred to be (J" the age o/' Charles I. They have, indeed,
much of the romantic expression of passion common to the
jioets of that period, whose lays still reflected the setting beams
of chivalry ; but, since their jrublication in thefirst edition of
this work, the editor has Ijeen informed that they were com-'
jMsed by the late Mr Graham of Gartmorc.
