On February 14, 1931, sixteen families of grape growers in the municipality of Bento
Gonçalves, in the southern mountains, met to lay the cornerstone of what would become the
biggest enterprise of its kind in Brazil: The AURORA COOPERATIVE WINE. Aurora has been
producing grapes much the same way as the Italian immigrants who originally settled in the
