The AHA thermostat-controlled radiator valve is intended
for 2-pipe systems provided with pump circulation. This
valve is very effective when it comes to keeping the air
temperature at the value set on the regulator scale. Valves of
this type shall not be preset.
This valve is delivered with a plastic hand regulator that
protects it during the final phases of construction work.
After construction work 'is finished, the regulator body can
easily be added when the installation is put into use.
W Radistat M k2 is provided with a die-cast AMETAP body
and with a brass bonnet and spindle. The coordinating
dimensions of this valve comply in full with Swedish SMS
standards. In principle, the thermostat section comprises a
liquid-filled sensing element with large contact surfaces. The
movements of this sensing element control the valve. It is
provided with a thermally insulated casing which acts as a
radiation shield, easy to clean. The regulator scale is provided
with relative temperature graduations, easy to read. No calibration
is required on the site. One digit on the scale corresponds
to a temperature change of about ca 2,5O C (5O F) in
the room. The number 5 corresponds to a room temperature
of ca + 21° C (70' F).
At the end of the scale marked r~ the valve is closed,
although it will open in response to low temperature (freez-
ing protection).
Flow is regulated by a spring-loaded spindle provided with
a rubber seal. The valve can be locked with a catch pin when
a suitable setting has been arrived at, thus preventing any
unauthorized person from changing the setting (useful in
schools and other public places for example). The catch pin
can easily be unlocked if the valve setting needs to be
changed.
The AHA KOMBI compression coupling consists of a thrust
screw, internal sleeve and olive (double-taper olive or adapter
olive). The thrust screw has external pipe threads. See flap 4,
sheet 3. For information about applications and fitting, see
the sheet entitled "AHA compression coupling" under flap 4
in the AHA catalogue.
Each valve is individually tested before despatch, both for
seat sealing and overall teak-tightness.
Delivered in corrugated board package which protects valve
during delivery.
The thermostat section should be stored in a cool place until
it is to be fitted, Le. after the final phase of the construction
work is finished and the pipes are clean. Fitting directions
and instructions for adding the regulator body are inserted in
the package.
Capacity and pressure drop: The rate of flow and the associated pressure drop across the
valve can be obtained from the capacity diagram. The lines
marked with temperatures refer to the temporary deviations
in air temperature relative to the setting which affects the
regualting mechanism in such a way as to restore the desired
temperature level.
