6. Students selected for Track A receive a scholarship that covers tuition and<br />

fees with taxes, subsidies for housing, meal plan, and medical insurance<br />

(if not already insured by documented equivalent coverage), as well as<br />

incidental costs.<br />

7. Preference is given to applicants whose dissertation research will be most<br />

enhanced by access in <strong>Princeton</strong> to resources not as readily available at<br />

their current institution or who show the greatest promise for contributing<br />

to future research and teaching in their home contexts.<br />

Track B: Doctoral Research Student Program (DRSP) – Self-Funded<br />

Track B: Doctoral Research Student Program—Self-Funded requires that<br />

accepted students fund their own stay.<br />

1. Doctoral students can be from home institutions whether foreign or<br />

domestic.<br />

2. This track is available for a four-month period during the fall semester<br />

(September–December) or the spring semester (January–April). Students<br />

may arrive no earlier than the start of the semester (September 1 or<br />

January 15) and remain no longer than December 31 for the fall semester<br />

or April 30 for the spring semester.<br />

3. Application deadlines are February 1 for fall semester admission and<br />

October 15 for spring semester admission.<br />

4. The student must complete the Track B: DRSP Online Application. A financial<br />

aid application is not required for this self-funded track.<br />

5. Successful applicants whether single, married, or in other legally recognized<br />

relationships, may apply for <strong>PTS</strong> housing and/or meal plan at<br />

regular subsidized rates. Generally, single students will be housed in a<br />

furnished campus residence hall and will take their meals in the <strong>PTS</strong> refectory.<br />

Married or legally coupled students may apply for an unfurnished<br />

<strong>PTS</strong> apartment with kitchen facilities.<br />

6. Students selected for Track B are responsible for all expenses incurred<br />

during their stay (housing, meal plan, and medical insurance at subsidized<br />

rates, as well as incidental costs). Students not electing <strong>PTS</strong> medical<br />

insurance must provide documentation that they carry comparable medical<br />

insurance.<br />
