Added value per animal is increased. *Milk collection system is in place. *Milk processing centers are operational and economically viable. *Market share for local milk improved and imports reduced. *Number of milk processing centers increased. *Volume of local milk processed is increased. *Value-added in the dairy and red mead sectors significantly increased. Potential to support a larger and healthier livestock population and to improve significantly the value-added of this sector. It can: (a) produce all the milk the country needs; (b) increase the value-added of its red meat production for local markets and exports and (c) develop a modern hide and leather processing industry. Provide food security; *Slaughter houses are built and are operational. Support to the Private Sector for the development of (i) dairies, (ii) slaughter houses, (iii) meat processing centers and (iv) skin and leather industries. Project: X5 *Local red meat market if fully supplied and according to norms and processed red meat exports are growing. Alleviate poverty; *Value-added for hides is significantly augmented *Hide treatment units are built Promote the sustainable and equitable growth of the sector. *Mauritania exports processed hides Increase its contribution to the national economy. Training and equipment of fisherman completed. Development of fish culture and fish management as part of CBIRD-WM and REIS projects. Project: X1 & X2 Fish production and catches are increased. Fish is sold on the local market.
