In its <strong>2012</strong> financial year, the<br />
<strong>Wiener</strong> <strong>Stadtwerke</strong> Group invested a<br />
total of EUR 940 million in improving the<br />
infrastructure of Vienna. This safeguards<br />
the high quality of life enjoyed in the city<br />
and also contributes to ensuring that this<br />
remains so in the future. In the transport<br />
segment, this mainly involved extending the<br />
underground network and modernising the<br />
vehicle fleet, stops and stations. The energy<br />
segment invested heavily in further tapping<br />
renewable sources of energy and in the<br />
long-term modernisation of the electricity,<br />
gas and district heating networks.<br />
Through its consistent programme of<br />
investment, <strong>Wiener</strong> <strong>Stadtwerke</strong> protects<br />
tens of thousands of jobs in the city and<br />
the surrounding areas.
