Notes. Tax<strong>on</strong>omy <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Cuba</str<strong>on</strong>g>n Pocadius is not clear.<br />

Jelinek did not see any material from <str<strong>on</strong>g>Cuba</str<strong>on</strong>g>.<br />

The data <strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> occurrence <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> P. helvolus in<br />

South America apparently refer to o<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>r species<br />

(Jelinek 1979). It occurs in México, eastern<br />

USA <strong>and</strong> Canada (Pars<strong>on</strong>s 1943). According<br />

to that author <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> status <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Cuba</str<strong>on</strong>g>n species<br />

is doubtful<br />

P. helvolus Erichs<strong>on</strong> 1843: 320<br />

Stelidota Erichs<strong>on</strong> 1843: 300<br />

Tax<strong>on</strong>omy <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Neotropical Stelidota is very c<strong>on</strong>fused<br />

<strong>and</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>ir revisi<strong>on</strong> is badly needed. Therefore it<br />

is difficult to give <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> exact distributi<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> particular<br />

species. Never<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g>less, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> list corresp<strong>on</strong>ds<br />

to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> present knowledge. Bibliography:<br />
