So, I will continue on the program, the
program that we have in the Virgin Islands is
called “Safety in Paradise”. And I would like
just to spend a little bit of time talking
about the U.S. Virgin Islands and where we are
and why it is important that safety in paradise
is a matter of place. And then I’d like to
talk a little bit about some environment of
challenges that I believe we have that are
unique to environment. And like to finish up
with our proposing some recommended research
topics.
So, the U.S. Virgin Islands is located
eighteen degrees North latitude between Miami
and Venezuela. That presents some very
interesting things for us, we’re four small
insular islands with a population of only a
hundred and sixteen thousand. But the average
temperature is eighty-five degrees Fahrenheit
year round. We also have a very a corrosive
kind of environment because of the salt sea and
sand. The tropical climate provides us with
