So, I will continue on the program, the<br />

program that we have in the Virgin Islands is<br />

called “Safety in Paradise”. And I would like<br />

just to spend a little bit of time talking<br />

about the U.S. Virgin Islands and where we are<br />

and why it is important that safety in paradise<br />

is a matter of place. And then I’d like to<br />

talk a little bit about some environment of<br />

challenges that I believe we have that are<br />

unique to environment. And like to finish up<br />

with our proposing some recommended research<br />

topics.<br />

So, the U.S. Virgin Islands is located<br />

eighteen degrees North latitude between Miami<br />

and Venezuela. That presents some very<br />

interesting things <strong>for</strong> us, we’re four small<br />

insular islands with a population of only a<br />

hundred and sixteen thousand. But the average<br />

temperature is eighty-five degrees Fahrenheit<br />

year round. We also have a very a corrosive<br />

kind of environment because of the salt sea and<br />

sand. The tropical climate provides us with<br />
