Ein Abend beim Altbier An evening with Alt beer 19/06/2008_Day 1 An evening with customers and guests The customer event started on June 19 with a tour of Düsseldorf, state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, and a stroll through the Old Town including a dinner at the well-known brewery “Schlüssel”. For our guests from Brazil and China the evening was an atmospheric introduction into the Rhenish culture and a colorful prelude to what was to come the following days. SIEMPELKAMP | GROUP 20/06/2008_Day 2 Local color, Siempelkamp-City and a festive dinner The morning of June 20 was all about the Rhenish region: Three adventure tours were organized covering different areas of interest: a tour of the industrial heritage in the Ruhr area, a tour to the Hombroich island of museums, and a tour to see Düsseldorf’s sights. The “Siempelkamp-City” was the highlight on the program in the afternoon. At the Reception at the Rheinterrassen A colorful program Rheinterrassen in Cologne the guests were welcomed with a breathtaking time travel through the history of the company. An Alt beer pub from the 19 th century took visitors to Siempelkamp’s time of origin, an American bar from the 1920s provided cosmopolitan flair, and an ice cream parlor from the seventies served, appropriate to the industry, a so called pipe-forming split instead of a banana split. 28 | 17 The historical settings finally ended in the present time: “It is Siempelkamp in 2008” demonstrated with five exhibition areas which industries utilize Siempelkamp technology. Construction and living-related industries, the power and nuclear technology industry as well as the automobile and aircraft industries rely on Siempelkamp technology.
