In December 2007 Siempelkamp
Nuclear Technology received an
order for the manufacture and
delivery of a lifting device for
the nuclear power plant Brokdorf.
A commitment to a delivery in only
7 months was the precondition for
obtaining this order!
The supply and retrofitting of components
for existing and new nuclear
power plants are core strengths of Siempelkamp’s
Nuclear Technology business unit.
The order from Brokdorf confirms our
excellent reputation especially considering
the very short project time. The project was
carried out at our locations in Heidelberg
(project management) and Linz (engineering).
The standard preliminary examination
documents necessary for obtaining the
mandatory expertise and verifications from
regulating authorities had to be compiled
and submitted in the shortest time possible.
During this phase the cooperation between
the operating company, the authorities,
Siempelkamp and our suppliers worked
in Siempelkamp’s favor. The tight time
schedule could be kept and the preliminary
examination documents were approved by
regulating authorities after only a short time.
