1.1 Use the vocabulary of Puppetry Arts such as character, setting, conflict, audience, motivation, props, stage areas, blocking,
puppeteers, narrator, to describe a puppetry arts experience
1.2 Identify the Who, What, When Where, and Why in a puppetry arts experience
1.3 Identify and describe how the placement of layers in the foreground, middle ground and background of a puppet theater

Creating, Performing and Participating in Puppet Theatre
2.1 Create unique movements to express character or image within the limitations of 2-dimensional puppet forms
(i.e., use vertical, horizontal, and lateral space, use of light and shadow etc.)
2.2 Create sketches to explore ideas for puppet, mask and stage design
2.3 In teams, create a moving visual sequence of images that explores themes or deepens understanding of a song,
poem, study topic, or piece of literature
2.4 Participate in cooperative scriptwriting, storyboarding or improvisation with puppets or masks that incorporate the
Five W’s
2.5 Create simple puppet or mask scenarios that share information through a balance of spoken words, visual
images, movement and sound
2.6 Through the performance of puppet or mask scenarios, demonstrate a basic knowledge of blocking and use of
stage areas
2.7 Explore uses of rhythm and movement in the visual design and/or puppet movement in the scenario
