6 MARKET POTENTIAL 6.1 Introduction This chapter discusses the potential of various world-wide markets. The views expressed are derived from internal consultations amongst the project partners and consultation with other organisations [74] . The external consultation included the completion of a questionnaire by a number of companies, which included information about their geographical market breakdown by value. The chapter focuses on the US and China as two main areas with significant potential for development within the global market for utility HRSGs, and on the home market in the UK. Non- technical barriers to future success within these markets are identified and discussed. 6.2 Market Survey The results of the questionnaire survey have been used to give an idea of which markets are most active. The small response to the survey means that confidence in the results is low. The geographical market share averaged over the thirteen questionnaire responses received are shown in Figure 34 below:- (102)
