METHODOLOGY GUIDE LPG<br />

Quality: Both field-grade and refinery grade butane is included<br />

in the assessment with a maximum of 30% olefins, 85% normal<br />

butane and 49% isobutane. For the CIF quote, product will be<br />

normalized to a specification of 70:30 split with a maximum<br />

olefin content of 10%. Isobutane is considered to be any product<br />

with over 50% isobutane content, and such product is not<br />

assessed by Platts, except in the US Gulf.<br />

Size: The assessment refers to coasters ex-refinery/storage with<br />

full cargoes between 1,000-3,600mt, although smaller full<br />

cargoes or split cargoes may be included at the discretion of the<br />

editor after consultation with the market.<br />

Location: The assessment covers an area represented by a<br />

triangle, with Wilhelmshaven (Germany), Teesside (UK) and Le<br />

Havre (France) as its three corners, and also including Milford<br />

Haven, Fawley and Grangemouth. Product from ports on the<br />

French Atlantic coast, as well as Portugal and the Spanish<br />

Atlantic coast, are not included in assessments.<br />

Timing: Vessels loading 5-15 days from date of publication.<br />

occasionally be sold at prices that correspond most to the 1-<br />

3,600mt market, and therefore may also be included in the 1-<br />

3,600mt assessment.<br />

Location: The assessment covers an area represented by a<br />

triangle, with Wilhelmshaven (Germany), Teesside (UK) and Le<br />

Havre (France) as its three corners, and also including Milford<br />
