Multidisciplinary team meetings
• Facilitates high quality care/ local peer review of screening
programme.
• Organisation of MDT determined locally.
• Colposcopy MDT either separate meeting or distinct part of
gynaecological cancer MDT meeting.
• 1 MDT/ trust: MDT details of caseload to be locally decided:
– inclusion of all mismatch likely to result in big MDT caseload
– local MDT to define what is mismatch and who should select these.
Membership
• Members of MDT should include cytologists, histopathologists,
colposcopists.
• Chair of meeting should be member with management role in
delivering local screening programme
– eg. hospital based coordinator, lead colposcopist, lead cytologist, lead
histopathologist.
