Continuation ... It is about numbers ort he other way round, it is still about numbers. I thought about half a year ago that I had managed that. That is however still not the case. It is still a topic for me. It continues to improve slightly, but it is still for away from getting automatic. If I have to name a three digit number e.g. “237” then it goes the following way. The number “2” almost goes without problems. Then there comes the trouble with German. After the “2“, follows the “7“ and then finally the “3“. Thus it goes “2“, “7“, and the „3“. As I said the “2“ doesn’t cause any major problems. But I very often exchange “7” and “3”. So basically I get the “273”. Now I think I found a solution for the problem for myself. I speak the second and third number as one number “37”. So I don’t have three individual numbers, instead I have numbers that form a kind of syllable. As a change I now have to learn 100 numbers to get this done, e.g. from “00” to “99”. That somehow seems to work for myself. I don’t know how other people do it. 28.04.2009 Next continuation ... If I now try to make something in parallel with counting numbers, then I run into trouble. Counting with numbers is so exhausting to me that I cannot do anything else at the same time. But it is getting each day a bit better. Of course the development is going much slower than I thought, but it is continuously. 30.04.2009 Birthday ... Some days ago I had birthday. I was very happy and grateful about the many presents I received! … at that day the following happened to me: My mother said to me: Please open the birthday card. I fully understood the term, but I couldn’t remember what a birthday card is. I was trying to understand the term, but I couldn’t get the meaning. I had to ask my mother what a birthday card is. Then this connection was established again. Let’s see whether I remember it the next time (-:?
02.05.2009 Learning numbers from “00“ to “99“ In the last couple of days I started to learn numbers from “00” to “99” by heart. This will take a couple of days, but it should allow me to learn the numbers for automatic usage. Through that I would like to accomplish that my automatic understanding of numbers goes up to “999”. I hat already described that I had many difficulties with numbers. Let’s see whether this is going to work …. 03.05.2009 “Reset Button” Many things have improved in the last couple of weeks. Under certain circumstances I can do things in parallel. Of course this is all very limited, but alone the fact that it is possible makes me very happy. After some minutes I recognize that my working memory is completely crowded. Then I in a sense I have to press the reset button and I can’t to anything for half a minute. After that I can begin again. That is a great success!
