Arad County has 16700 children en<strong>ro</strong>lled in<br />
elementary school. 8.1% of this number means that<br />
1435 children are not diagnosed with refractive er<strong>ro</strong>rs<br />
and are at risk.<br />
Conclusion<br />
8.1% of elementary school children (6-11 years<br />
old) are not diagnosed with refractive er<strong>ro</strong>rs.<br />
That is a truth with medium and long term consequences.<br />

The work of art blends with society’s aspirations,<br />
with the need for p<strong>ro</strong>gress and spirituality to<br />
which b<strong>ro</strong>ught their contribution not only specialists<br />
in that certain fi eld but doctors as well, doctors<br />
who had a p<strong>ro</strong>foundly humanistic app<strong>ro</strong>ach, who<br />
were aware that society need artictic creations.<br />
If science is a rep<strong>ro</strong>duction, as accurate as possible,<br />
the piece of art is a fi ltration of reality th<strong>ro</strong>ugh<br />
the inner fi lter of the artist, a decomposition and<br />
recomposition, at the same time, of the sur<strong>ro</strong>unding<br />
envi<strong>ro</strong>nment. The piece of art is a blend of the<br />
artist’s vocation and the siciety’s aspirations whose<br />
p<strong>ro</strong>duct he/she is. Art is the spiritual food being enlivened<br />
by the will to communicate, to have an echo<br />
in the conscience.<br />

Medical terminology p<strong>ro</strong>ves to be quite diffi cult<br />
to understand by laymen, but reaching to understand<br />
how affi xation works helps in getting a better<br />
perspective. Affi xation is, by far, one of the most<br />
used ways of creating new terms in medicine and<br />
learning its rules can ease the hard path of those<br />
who want to obtain a more p<strong>ro</strong>fi cient <st<strong>ro</strong>ng>medica</st<strong>ro</strong>ng>l vocabulary.<br />

UMF „Ca<strong>ro</strong>l Davila“, Bucureşti<br />
Grădina Botanică din Bucureşti a fost înfi inţată<br />
ca instituţie în anul 1860, pe lângă Facultatea de<br />
Medicină şi Farmacie, la iniţiativa doctorului Ca<strong>ro</strong>l<br />
Davila.<br />
Structurată ca bază didactică şi de cercetare, a<br />
fost realizată sub conducerea priceputului botanist<br />
Ulrich Hoffmann, ca prim director al acestei instituţii.<br />
Amenajarea noilor spaţii, care corespund amplasamentului<br />
actual al Grădinii Botanice, a pre supus<br />
construirea şi popularea primelor sere – uti li zând<br />
modelul serelor Grădinii Botanice din Liège –,<br />
construirea Institutului Botanic etc.<br />
În anul 1994, odată cu prima Sesiune Naţională<br />
de Comunicări Ştiinţifi ce Botanice, Grădina Botanică<br />
bucureşteană primeşte numele P<strong>ro</strong>f. Dr.<br />
Dimitrie Brândză.<br />
În lucrare ne-am p<strong>ro</strong>pus să aducem în atenţie<br />
transformările prin care a trecut această grădină,<br />
personalităţile (în special medici: Dimitrie Brândză,<br />
Dimitrie Grecescu etc.) implicate în conducerea şi<br />
organizarea ei, frumuseţea plantelor şi utilizarea lor<br />
în terapeutică, pentru că, atunci când studiul<br />
plantelor a fost abordat într-o manieră ştiinţifi că, au<br />
apărut grădinile botanice.<br />
