XV. SPECIAL POWERS FOR ENGINEERS

can exercise the fouowing speciar powers in connection
with planning and executi"on of such works :
(i) Detailing officers anywhere in the country.
(1i) Resorting ro consultancy for any irem of work.
(iii) Purchasing of stationery, reprographic
equipments, typewriters or any other office
equipment required.
(iv) Installation . of Telex, Fix, Internet or other
communication equipmenr in CBICWE/CE
office.
(r) Payment of charges for telephone connections
including STD fa-itity on priority Uuri" ----"''
(vi) Hiring of civil transport for project work.
(vii) fliring of office and temporary accommodation
for construction staff.

(viii)Procurement of cement and Steel frorn open
market, if necessary.
(ix)1 Selective tendering.
(x)2 Dispensing with adverlisement for tendering and
contracting.
Note : The expenditure to be incurred fttr items cited in
sub-Paras (iii) to (vii) above will be met out b7 conttngencies of
the p_roject. The cost of consurtancy wilr be" arso m"et i"t ,iy

XVI. PROCESSING OF LOW BUDGETED WORKS
. ld| In case of Low Budgeted Works, i.e., original
capital works costing more than Rs. 2 Lakh,.nut iess Ilan
Rs. 15 Lakh, these works will be sanctioned by the cEAs
after the Annual Low Budgeted works programme has
been approved as per para 19 above and bulf ailotments
of funds for this purpose in the relevant financial year have
been made to the respective cEAs. Board proceedings can
be dispensed with in case of Low Budgeted works c"osting
upto Rs. 10 Lakh, if so decided by tne ene. Administrativl
Approval in such cases will be based on consideration and
approval of a Statement of case as per para 22 above by
the cEA and Approximate Estimates as per para 30 above.
lhl| In case of Low Budgeted Works carried out for
urgent reasons as cited in paras 34 to 36 above, the
procedures laid down therein can be adopted.
XVII. REVENUE AND MINOR WORKS
