Graduation Requirement: 13 courses<br />

Develop critical knowledge and skills to provide<br />

personal care and support to people living<br />

at home and in long-term care facilities. This<br />

program, approved by the Ministry of Health<br />

and the Ministry of Training, <strong>College</strong>s and<br />

Universities, consolidates and replaces the<br />

Health Care Aide and Home Support programs.<br />

The part time Personal Support Worker<br />

Program has been suspended as of<br />

September 2012. The full time Personal<br />

Support Worker program remains available.<br />

Pharmacy Technician<br />

Bridging<br />

Pharmacy Technicians who are currently in<br />

the profession (either graduates of programs<br />

prior to or without CCAPP accreditation or who<br />

have "learned on the job") who wish to pursue<br />

OCP registration must complete the 4 approved<br />

Pharmacy Technician Bridging courses. These<br />

courses will prepare the Pharmacy Technician<br />

to meet the education requirements for<br />

registration with OCP.<br />

The Bridging courses may be taken in any<br />

order, as offered. You may use the PLAR<br />

process to challenge any of the courses except<br />

for the Professional Practice course which is<br />

mandatory. The Structured Practical Training<br />

component is managed by OCP. See OCP<br />

website for details.<br />

your fax. Registration restricted to applicants<br />

who have OCP or PEBC credentials.<br />

NOTE: The last offering of the Bridging courses<br />

will be in the fall semester 2014. Unsuccessful<br />

students will not have an opportunity to retake<br />

a failed course. The last opportunity to<br />

PLAR a course will be in the spring semester<br />

2014. Unsuccessful students would have the<br />

opportunity to register for and complete the<br />

failed PLAR course in the fall semester 2014.<br />

The Bridging courses will not be available after<br />

January 1, 2015.<br />
