CALIFORNIA PINES VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT EMERGENCY<br />

EVACUATION PLAN-HILL UNITS<br />

EVACUATION ROUTES<br />

Revised June, 2002<br />

Route 1: North-Follow Cal-Pines Bl. (County Road 71) north to approximately 200 ft. past<br />

the Red School House to Diamond”C” Ranch Rd. Turn left <strong>and</strong> got to Honker Cove<br />

Campground (meeting place). This is the preferred route <strong>and</strong> should be used if at all possible.<br />

Route 2: West-<strong>Unit</strong>s 1, 2, 3, ONLY<br />

Take Bonanza or Laramie to Acoma. Turn left <strong>and</strong> go to South Fork Rd. Turn right <strong>and</strong> go<br />

to Hunters Ridge Rd. (Forest Service route 22). Turn right <strong>and</strong> go to Lower Rush Creek<br />

Campground, which is near <strong>State</strong> Rt. 299 (meeting place) Note: South Fork Rd. is rough <strong>and</strong><br />

not graveled but is okay for cars. Forest Service road between Faver <strong>and</strong> Acoma north <strong>of</strong><br />

Cal-Pines Bl. (outside <strong>of</strong> Cal-Pines is also rough).<br />

Route 2A: UNIT 3 SOUTHWEST CORNER-From Gatling Rd. go to Acoma <strong>and</strong> turn<br />

right. Go to South Fork Rd. Turn left <strong>and</strong> follow route 2 above to Lower Rush Creek<br />

Campground (meeting place).<br />

Route 2B: UNIT 4- Take CalPines Bl. South then west. Turn right on Faver (old name<br />

Alpine) which becomes Acoma (Forest Service road connects Faver with Acoma). Turn left<br />

at South Fork Rd. <strong>and</strong> follow route 2 above on to Lower Rush Creek Campground (meeting<br />

place).<br />

Route 2C: UNIT 5-Take Hilton to Faver (old name Alpine) which becomes Acoma (Forest<br />

Service road connects Faver with Acoma). Turn left at South Fork Rd. <strong>and</strong> follow route 2<br />

above on to Lower Rush Creek Campground (meeting place).<br />

Route 3: SOUTH-Take Cal-Pines Bl. South <strong>and</strong> west to Faver (old name Alpine) in <strong>Unit</strong> 4.<br />

Turn left which becomes Acoma (Forest Service road connects Faver with Acoma). Turn left<br />

at South Fork Rd. <strong>and</strong> follow route 2 above on to Lower Rush Creek Campground (meeting<br />

place).<br />

Route 3A: UNITS 1, 2, 3, ONLY-Take Bonanza or Laramie to Acoma. Turn left <strong>and</strong> go to<br />

Hunters Ridge Rd. (Forest Service route 22) then turn left. From Gatling, turn left on Acoma<br />

<strong>and</strong> left on South Fork Rd. Turn left on Forest Service road 22 <strong>and</strong> continue on to Ash Creek<br />

Campground (meeting place). Note: South Fork Rd. is rough <strong>and</strong> not graveled but is okay<br />

for cars.<br />

Route 4: NORTHWEST-CalPines Bl. North to Carlsberg Rd. Bear left on Carlsberg <strong>and</strong><br />

turn left at the second intersection (immediately before Pike). Follow the most traveled way<br />

which becomes Cooley Gulch Rd.. You will come to a three-way intersection with a Forest<br />

Service road sign showing mileage to Manzanita L.O. <strong>and</strong> Hilton <strong>Fire</strong> <strong>Protection</strong> Station to<br />

the left, <strong>and</strong> Alturas to the right. Here you have two choices (DO NOT TURN LEFT).<br />

If you continue straight past the sign, the road then becomes County Road 175. Continue on<br />

to County Road 54 (Centerville Rd.). Turn right <strong>and</strong> go east to County Road 71 (CalPines<br />

Bl.)<br />
