The extent of the limitation depends on the scanning method:
Line scanning: maximum line width + 2 mm
Contrast scanning: 2 mm
The following parameter entries are possible:
0 = no search range limitation
1 = search range limitation always active
2 = time-limited search range limitation
If the sensor loses the guiding criterion during automatic
mode after a specified time (time entry in parameter 30) the
search range will be extended to the entire measuring range of
the sensor.
3 = time-limited search range limitation
If the sensor loses the guiding criterion regardless of which
operating mode is selected, after a specified time (time entry in
parameter 30) the search range will be extended to the entire
sensor measuring range.

Once the time entered in parameter 30 has expired, the search range
limitation exercised by parameter 29 is cancelled.
Attention: the parameter value is multiplied by 5 ms. An entry of e.g.
100 means that the search range limitation will be cancelled after
500 ms (100 x 5 ms = 500 ms).
The sensor glass should be kept free from soiling and cleaned regularly
(e.g. 1 x monthly) with a soft clean cloth or optical paper.
The light transmitter LEDs have an average service life of approx.
10000 operating hours. As, with increasing age, luminosity diminishes
it is recommended that the light transmitter be replaced after
10000 operating hours.
