3.3 Simulations using CosmosFloWorks<br />

Once the propeller geometry is fully described and satisfactory, CFD simulation work can<br />
begin using the SolidWorks application "CosmosFloWorks". CosmosFloWorks is an<br />
easy-to-usc nuid-now simulation and thennal analysis program that is fully embedded in<br />
Solidworks. CosmosFloWorks can be used to simulate thrust, which is one of the most<br />
important parameter in a propeller design. Based on rcal experimental settings that wcrc<br />
introduced in chapter 2, a simulation structure is created in CosmosFloWorks. Because<br />
CosmosFloWorks doesn't allow to set up the velocity parameter for a solid part, it cannot<br />
simulate the motion ofthe carriage as described in chaptcr 2. Instead, the nuid velocity is<br />
controlled in order to simulate the carriage motion. For example, ifthe test carriage<br />
moves at 2 mls forwards, CosmosFloworks can set up that the propeller is fixed with the<br />
