In this reduced simulation domain, there is much more pressure effect on the domain edge.<br />

That means this domain size is not big enough for this propeller simulation. These<br />

increased pressure effects will cause an error ofpropeller thrust prediction. Selecting a<br />

simulation domain with little water pressure at the edge is a good choice for a propeller<br />

simulation.<br />

The simulation model provides water flow with a specific velocity to simulate ship<br />

motion, which is the same function as the tow·tank carriage. This model also provides<br />

propeller geometry. But, the model shown in figure 27 is not the same as a real<br />

experiment. The propeller geometry is enlarged in figure 3D, so the difference is shown<br />

clearly.<br />
