As I was getting my young son and
myself into the car to go to the bank, I
realized it was foolish to waste the gas
for the short trip into Plymouth. I decided
to put my youngster in the child
carrier on the rear of my 10-speed and
bicycle into town — I could exercise
On behalf of the League of Women
Voters, I thank you for the fine job you
did publicizing' and covering the
league-sponsored Plymouth-Canton
to inform area voters on candidates'
views. Without your cooperation, the
candidates forums would not be as effective
as they are.
I should have realized most drivers
do not appreciate sharing the road with
a cyclist and regard one only with contempt.
Turning cars don't seem to be
aware of bicycles or think that cyclists
have any rights on the streets.
When I finally arrived at the bank, I
was feeling somewhat discouraged but
not defeated until the bank teller pleasantly
I would like to publicly thank the
Plymouth Jaycettes for sponsoring the
"Super Mom Contest" and also my
daughter, Julie, for entering and winning
first place.
Needless to say, I am proud to be
