cannot be demonstrated with such facility, of course .<br />

We can call upon what the lawyero call "res ipsa loquitur", of<br />

course . If advortising and paokage design do not attract smokers<br />

• why do oigarette companies indklge in them? More important than<br />

that argument, however, is the fact that the percentage of non-amokers<br />

entering Princeton has gradually risen over the years .<br />

Of the class entering in 1948, 58% wore non-smokors, but by<br />

1963 80% of the entering class were non-emokers . This gradual -<br />

rise has been due to the oonstant exposure to the facts oil<br />

the effect of im8mxmatimmx cigarette smoking on health .<br />

The constant reminder of prospective or actual smokers of these<br />

facts by appropriate labelling and by statements included with<br />

advertising will similkAly help to reduce smoking among our<br />

young people .<br />

These are our reasons for mxgmgx urging legislative action .<br />
