8.2.6.2 TOWN LEVEL ROAD NETWORK AND HIERARCHY<br />
The roads/ streets in the town are looked after by the municipality. Nearly all the<br />
roads in the town are metalled. The municipality is maintaining 50.366 Km roads with<br />
in the town. The category of the roads maintained by the municipality is given in<br />
table below:<br />

There is no authorised parking area in the<br />
town. Hence, private vehicles as well as auto-<br />
rickshaws are generally parked on road<br />
intersection or along the road.<br />
There is no provision of pedestrian along the major and minor roads and people<br />
face problem in walking on the main roads also this creates problem for the fast<br />
moving traffic. The both sides of the main roads are encroached by shop owners on<br />
the existing carriage way up to 1 meter and it acts as a hindrance for free flow of<br />
traffic.<br />
8.2.6.5 PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM<br />
There is no public transportation system within the town. However para-transit modes<br />
like auto rickshaws are available for intra town movement. There are approximately<br />
150 auto rickshaws in the town. There are no authorised parking spaces for auto<br />
rickshaws. Bus transport provides connectivity to nearby areas as well as to other<br />
