ATTEND AN EVENT • More than a dozen special events held throughout the year make a well-timed trip to the Zoo a great excuse, a great escape, and a fine way to support the Zoo’s wildlife-conservation efforts. VOLUNTEER • Engage visitors with our conservation messages and help with Zoo education programs, animal care and behavior watches, special events, and more.
ADOPT A SPECIES • The Zoo’s endangered animals need you! Help support the care of 2,000 animals at the Zoo by adopting one today. Adopt packages make great gifts for those you love, or just for you. KIDS’ ADOPT • Your $50 donation helps support the Giant Panda Conservation Fund and provides your child with a packet of fun panda-themed items. PLAN FOR THE FUTURE • In 2008, FONZ will celebrate 50 successful years of partnership with the National Zoo. Help us make the next 50 years as fruitful as the first. Designate FONZ as a beneficiary of your life insurance, IRA, or estate. These gifts generally avoid probate and may also reduce estate and capital-gains taxes. Charitable trusts and gift annuities can also provide income and reduce taxes during your lifetime. SPONSOR AN EVENT • Through event sponsorship, corporations capture the attention of thousands of Washington metro-area families. Sponsor contributions also support the Zoo’s important wildlife-conservation and education programs.
