See America – Denmark
See America – Denmark is a cooperation of private sector and
public sector bodies whose mission is to promote travel and
tourism to the United States from Denmark through travel
trade shows, workshops, seminars, and other targeted events
for our members. We strive to increase our members’ knowledge
of the U.S. and its destinations so that they can more
effectively sell to their clients.
Newly formed in April 2004, the See America – Denmark
steering group has worked diligently to finalize the operational
aspects of See America – Denmark in order to build a
solid foundation for growth, and to develop an active 2004-
2005 calendar of events, including its Membership Drive &
Reception at the U.S. Embassy in September; the See America
– Denmark Website Launch; a See America – Denmark
Workshop in October; and the See America – Denmark
Pavilion at the Ferie 2005 Travel Trade Show in January 2005.
“The backup from AmCham helps build a strong foundation
to create exciting events for members and, in the future, the
public,” says See America’s Chairman Cimm Barslev, Director
of Asia Sales, SAS. The Committee’s activities are generating
“a strong, positive response,” he adds.
A company can become a member of See America – Denmark
by either joining AmCham Denmark or by joining See
America – Denmark directly. Criteria for becoming a member

Insurance Committee
The Insurance Committee’s mission is to build a strong
professional dialogue between the insurance industry in
Denmark and its clients, and to inform decision makers in the
public and private sectors about developments, challenges,
and trends in insurance for the benefit of all.
On September 14, 2004, the committee sponsored a seminar
on Risk Management at the Hilton Copenhagen Airport.
Experts Allison O’Sullivan, The Coca-Cola Company; and
Troy Priesmeyer of The Wackenhut Corporation (Group4-
Securicor) – both are their companies’ directors of Risk
Management – spoke at “Managing Risk in a Global
Environment,” an AmCham Executive Forum. Lars Andersen,
Risk Manager, TDC, moderated.
Topics included risk financing, multi-line programs, actuary
reports, and basket aggregates. But there was a bigger story.

The 90 specialists and other AmCham members heard that
insurance can be a unifying, strategic pursuit – a means to
important ends – and that risk managers should be key players
in helping their companies to achieve goals.
The Committee will continue to share such innovative ideas
with specialists and the broader AmCham membership in the
coming year.
