David Ma<br />
David Ma is a member of the Corporate/<br />
Commercial group at Blaney McMurtry<br />
LLP. David’s practice focuses on commercial<br />
transactions involving technology (including<br />
outsourcing, development, licensing,<br />
distribution, service provision, procurements,<br />
electronic commerce and related matters)<br />
and corporate matters involving companies<br />
that develop, market and exploit technology<br />
(including shareholder agreements, corporate<br />
structures and reorganizations, financings and<br />
acquisitions and divestitures). David currently<br />
serves as the treasurer and a director of the<br />
Canadian IT Law Association and is a member of<br />
the International Technology Law Association,<br />
the Information Technology and E-Commerce<br />
Section of the Ontario Bar Association, the<br />
Licensing Executives Society, the Toronto<br />
Computer Lawyers Group and the American<br />
Bar Association. David was called to the Bars of<br />
Ontario and New York in 2000. He obtained his<br />
common law and civil law degrees from McGill<br />
University. David is also qualified as a Chartered<br />
Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst,<br />
and holds a B.Comm. from the University of<br />
Toronto.<br />
Jeannette lee<br />
Jeannette Lee is lawyer and registered trademark<br />
agent with Stohn Hay Cafazzo Dembroski<br />
Richmond LLP. She advises clients on entertainment,<br />
marketing, and intellectual property law<br />
issues, with a special focus on the film, television,<br />
marketing and advertising, and interactive<br />
industries. Jeanette’s practice includes advising<br />
on branded entertainment initiatives, product<br />
integration, sponsorship, endorsement, charitable<br />
promotions, contests and other promotions,<br />
advertising and marketing compliance and<br />
related privacy matters, marketing to children,<br />
film and television production agreements, film<br />
and television interim financing, broadcast and<br />
distribution licenses, and trade-mark and copyright<br />
protection and licensing. Before joining her<br />
current firm, Jeanette practiced at a major<br />
national full service law firm, in-house at<br />
national media company, and at a large IP<br />
boutique law firm. Jeanette volunteers as Vice-<br />

Usman Sheikh<br />
Usman M. Sheikh is a Prosecutor / Litigation<br />
Counsel with the Enforcement Branch of the<br />
Ontario Securities Commission. He is presently<br />
assigned to the specialist Insider Trading<br />
/ Market Specialist Unit of the Commission.<br />
Usman has a Joint Triple Honours degree in<br />
Political Science, Philosophy and History from<br />
McGill University and a M.Sc. in International<br />
Relations from the London School of Economics<br />
where he was a Commonwealth Scholar. Usman<br />
graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University<br />
of Toronto. Prior to joining the Commission,<br />
Usman was an associate at Lenczner Slaght<br />
LLP, a premier litigation boutique in Toronto.<br />
lucas lung<br />
Caveat Emptor<br />
Lucas Lung is a partner at Lerners LLP,<br />
where he maintains a general civil litigation<br />
practice, which includes shareholder and other<br />
commercial disputes, professional negligence<br />
actions, class actions and administrative law<br />
proceedings. Lucas has appeared on behalf<br />
of corporations and individuals in trials,<br />
appeals and other hearings before numerous<br />
administrative boards and tribunals, municipal<br />
councils, private commercial arbitrations, and<br />
all levels of court, including the Supreme Court<br />
of Canada. He has written papers for and<br />
presented at numerous conferences on a wide<br />
variety of legal topics for both legal and nonlegal<br />
audiences. Prior to joining Lerners, Lucas<br />
practiced at the Toronto office of a national firm,<br />
and then at a Legal Aid Ontario-funded legal<br />
clinic. In 2011, Lucas received The Advocates’<br />
Society Arleen Goss Young Advocates’ Award<br />
for public interest advocacy and was recognized<br />
as one of Lexpert Magazine’s Rising Stars –<br />
Leading Lawyers Under 40. He was called to the<br />
