David Ma
David Ma is a member of the Corporate/
Commercial group at Blaney McMurtry
LLP. David’s practice focuses on commercial
transactions involving technology (including
outsourcing, development, licensing,
distribution, service provision, procurements,
electronic commerce and related matters)
and corporate matters involving companies
that develop, market and exploit technology
(including shareholder agreements, corporate
structures and reorganizations, financings and
acquisitions and divestitures). David currently
serves as the treasurer and a director of the
Canadian IT Law Association and is a member of
the International Technology Law Association,
the Information Technology and E-Commerce
Section of the Ontario Bar Association, the
Licensing Executives Society, the Toronto
Computer Lawyers Group and the American
Bar Association. David was called to the Bars of
Ontario and New York in 2000. He obtained his
common law and civil law degrees from McGill
University. David is also qualified as a Chartered
Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst,
and holds a B.Comm. from the University of
Toronto.
Jeannette lee
Jeannette Lee is lawyer and registered trademark
agent with Stohn Hay Cafazzo Dembroski
Richmond LLP. She advises clients on entertainment,
marketing, and intellectual property law
issues, with a special focus on the film, television,
marketing and advertising, and interactive
industries. Jeanette’s practice includes advising
on branded entertainment initiatives, product
integration, sponsorship, endorsement, charitable
promotions, contests and other promotions,
advertising and marketing compliance and
related privacy matters, marketing to children,
film and television production agreements, film
and television interim financing, broadcast and
distribution licenses, and trade-mark and copyright
protection and licensing. Before joining her
current firm, Jeanette practiced at a major
national full service law firm, in-house at
national media company, and at a large IP
boutique law firm. Jeanette volunteers as Vice-
Chair of the Entertainment, Media & Communications
Section of the Ontario Bar Association,

Usman Sheikh
Usman M. Sheikh is a Prosecutor / Litigation
Counsel with the Enforcement Branch of the
Ontario Securities Commission. He is presently
assigned to the specialist Insider Trading
/ Market Specialist Unit of the Commission.
Usman has a Joint Triple Honours degree in
Political Science, Philosophy and History from
McGill University and a M.Sc. in International
Relations from the London School of Economics
where he was a Commonwealth Scholar. Usman
graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University
of Toronto. Prior to joining the Commission,
Usman was an associate at Lenczner Slaght
LLP, a premier litigation boutique in Toronto.
lucas lung
Caveat Emptor
Lucas Lung is a partner at Lerners LLP,
where he maintains a general civil litigation
practice, which includes shareholder and other
commercial disputes, professional negligence
actions, class actions and administrative law
proceedings. Lucas has appeared on behalf
of corporations and individuals in trials,
appeals and other hearings before numerous
administrative boards and tribunals, municipal
councils, private commercial arbitrations, and
all levels of court, including the Supreme Court
of Canada. He has written papers for and
presented at numerous conferences on a wide
variety of legal topics for both legal and nonlegal
audiences. Prior to joining Lerners, Lucas
practiced at the Toronto office of a national firm,
and then at a Legal Aid Ontario-funded legal
clinic. In 2011, Lucas received The Advocates’
Society Arleen Goss Young Advocates’ Award
for public interest advocacy and was recognized
as one of Lexpert Magazine’s Rising Stars –
Leading Lawyers Under 40. He was called to the
Ontario Bar in 2006.
