Urban Myth? The Aggressive Asian Lawyer HENRY J. CHANG Henry J. Chang is a partner at Blaney McMurtry LLP. He is currently co-chair of the firm’s International Trade and Business Group and a member of its Immigration Law Group. As a member of the firm’s International Trade and Business Group, Henry acts for foreign and domestic companies seeking to transport goods, services, capital, and/or intellectual property across borders. He provides representation on a broad range of investment, trade, and customs issues. Henry is also a member of the firm’s Immigration Law Group. A recognized authority in the field of United States and Canadian immigration law, he lectures extensively on the subject in both the United States and Canada. His work has been published in numerous nationally- and internationally-recognized publications, including LexisNexis’ Immigration Law & Procedure, which has been cited in over 300 federal court decisions in cases from across the U.S. circuit courts of appeals, federal district courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Henry is listed in The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers, the Official Research Partner of the International Bar Association and Strategic Research Partner of the ABA Section of International Law. JUYUNG JACQUELINE AN Juyung Jacqueline An was born and raised in Daegu, South Korea until the age of nine when her family immigrated to Toronto, Canada. In 1993, she entered law school and specialized in trial advocacy. Jacqueline has represented majority of high profile Korean criminal cases in the Korean community. She is active within the Korean community as a lawyer and advisor on Korean community matters. She has been -28- www.facl.ca profiled as a criminal lawyer panelist on Korean and Canadian legal television shows, newspapers and magazines. More recently, she was profiled on South Korea’s SBS-Network, “Want to Know More” documentary on her Korean gang rape/cult case on April 10, 2010. Jacqueline is the President of Korean Women’s International Network, Toronto Chapter (KOWIN) and Vice-President of Canada KOWIN. She was the Vice-President of FACL (Federal Asian Canadian Lawyers), Gala Chair and Scholarship Chair. She has served as the Vice-President of Korean Canadian Women’s Association (KCWA) for many years. She was also a legal advisor for the Ontario Tae Kwon Do Association (OTA) for two years. She was also the legal advisor to the Korean Consulate General for many years. Jacqueline is a 4th Dan or Master in Tae Kwon Do. She has won four gold medals in sparring in Tae Kwon Do competitions. She has received a distinction by The Law Society of Upper Canada as “exceptional Ontario lawyer of Korean Heritage” in 2010. ROSLYN M. TSAO Roslyn M. Tsao is a partner at Epstein Cole and practise exclusively in the area of famil law. Roslyn holds an LLB from the University of Toronto and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1993. Roslyn joined Epstein Cole LLP in 2003 and became a partner in 2004. Prior to joining Epstein Cole, Roslyn had her own general practice in the areas of family and civil litigation, real estate and estates and criminal litigation. Roslyn also spent 6 months in the tax and pensions department at Blakes. Roslyn is an associate editor of the Reports of Family Law and has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario. Roslyn also sits as a co-chair of the University Tribunal, University of Toronto. Roslyn speaks regularly at CLE for lawyers and non-lawyers. Roslyn is the President of the
Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals (Ont) Education Foundation, a charitable organization which provides scholarships and loans to postsecondary students. Roslyn is also a member of th Association of Chinese Canadian Lawyers of Ontario and Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals. Gregory L. Chang is a lawyer with the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario) and formerly of the Law Society of British Columbia. He attended law school at the University of Victoria. His practice areas include: insurance litigation; personal injury litigation and commercial litigation.
